Indians should hang heads in shame over demolishing Babri Masjid

Indian President Pranab Mukherjee has held the country’s former Prime Minister Narasimha Rao responsible for demolition of Babri mosque, which led to country-wide riots in 1992.

“The inability to prevent the demolition of the Babri Masjid was one of PV’s [Narasimha Rao] biggest failures,” writes Mukherjee in the second volume of his memoir – The Turbulent Years: 1980 – 96.

“The demolition of Babri Masjid was an act of absolute perfidy, which should make all Indians hang their heads in shame.”

No nation is perfect, at least Indians have the good sense to introspect and allow for a divergence of opinion.

No one elected a mass murderer. The worst that could e said of Modi is he failed to lead properly during the early days of his time as CM during those horrific times (2002) but no one has accused him of being personally responsible for orcostrating a SINGLE death.

Leave that to one side, this man, the President of India, Mr Pranab Mukerjee, has had a long polical career where he HAS been elected in numerous elections and has held numerous posts in democratically elected governments. To say he doesn't represent India is about the most stupid comment I've seen on here for a while.

There is no point in commenting on Modi, the objective of the rant is not to understand what happened in Gujrat but apportion blame.

I wonder if the president had any comment on Op Blue Star or the 1984 massacre, I believe he is politically active then. I do believe that Babri Masjid demolition was a shameful act and shouldn't have been done. But lets not forget this the same country with 300,000 active mosques. One of them dates back to 629 AD built seven years after the mosque in Medina.

Indians won't be ashamed of babri which was forciby built over the broken Temple of Lord Ram. This temple was considered to be on the birthplace of Lord Ram. One of the holiest sites for Hindus. It was broken and a mosque was built on top of it. It was an act to psychologically destroy the morale of hindus of India. Similar masjid was made in famous Qutub Minar. There a temple was destroyed and its bricks and pilars were used to make Quwwat-ul-Islam masjid, that mean power of Islam masjid.

The day a Hindu gets a right to build a temple in Kaaba, then talk to us with your moral high ground.

But the new structure has a dome/minaret influenced by the Arab.
