Indians knew about gravity before Newton: Isro ex-chief

No, even animals knew about gravity before Newton. That's the reason they don't jump off cliffs. :D
Yes, as I mentioned earlier, even our prehuman ancestors knew about the existence of gravity. Most sentient animals know that things fall down.

(To be fair, Indian astronomers in antiquity have gone a little further than that in describing it. But they did not describe it in the way Newton did, and to the best of my knowledge, nobody quantified it before Newton.)

Please do point out to me where Bhaskara has explained the universal law of gravitation. The inverse square law. That's what Newton brought to the table. That's what I said, about modern understanding. (Although to be very pedantic, you would have to take into account the relativistic anomalies.)

The inverse square law is a mathematical model to explain the gravity to Europeans not Indians. Because Indians already knew it.

You got that right, I have no answers to the vacuous claptrap. But do those emoticons look like anxiety to you?

This is curiosity sir :)

Rig Veda 10.149.1“The sun has tied Earth and other planets through attraction and moves them around itself as if a trainer moves newly trained horses around itself holding their reins.”
In this mantra,
Savita = Sun
Yantraih = through reins
Prithiveem = Earth
Aramnaat = Ties
Dyaam Andahat = Other planets in sky as well
Atoorte = Unbreakable
Baddham = Holds
Ashwam Iv Adhukshat = Like horses

Don't get me wrong. I believe people of antiquity knew more than we give them credit for. They may have not known the reasoning behind a lot of things they observed, nonetheless they observed it and applied it in their lives. A lot of history has been lost over time. Unless we can find all the missing pieces, we'll never know how and why they reached the conclusions they did.

.
The Egyptians must have known about gravity too in order to build the Pyramids. Just by finding ways to lift giant blocks of rock they have testified concretly their knowledge of gravity and how to deal with it.
