Indian Travelling To Pakistan Question

Unfortunately India has the same policy towards Pakistani expats.

Best time to apply for a visa is during the Beesakhi fest.

There was an article in outlook about a Man from Bangalore marrying a Pakistani woman.

Even being his spouse, the woman had to report to the police when leaving Delhi, report wthin a period.

There are also other stringent restrictions.

Why is that relevant, do you work for the ISI ?

I went to Pakistan back in 1998 to attend a wedding, I was 11 years old then. Very close family friend of ours from Lucknow, got married to a girl from Karachi.

More recently went to Pakistan couple of times for work related stuff. Does that answer all your question? :buba_phone:
i though u had a susraal here.

I am sorry you had that experience. Foreign Office should apply the visa policy equally on all peoples, not selectively as you suggested. Sorry once again.

I just replied to this post because I was compelled.

You are too nice! No need to apologise!

It will still affect you, getting visa will be a long and tedious process, and even then there will be a good chance that your visa application will be rejected.

If you can get a Pakistani friend(if you have one) to go along with you, that ll make your life a lot easier.

Roybot is right, it doesn't matter if you are no longer an Indian citizen.
I applied for Indian visa which was granted, but i remember there is a check box on form confirming your roots with Pakistan or if your parents were born in Pakistan. Checking this box was pretty much like opening a can of worms. They ask so much documentation that at the end you don't care if you are rejected .

I am not sure on the Pakistan visa process though :P

Like I said, I am not planning to travel in the future, but I would love to. I just want to know what obstacles I would encounter.

Where did you go in India?

You will not have any issues in Pak, you may be surprised how different it is to what you see in the media.

Mainly Chennai

What made you go there?

Mainly Pakistanis tend to visit Delhi because they have more of an 'affinity' there.

I am from the neighbouring state from where you visited

:-)

Urdu for hooliganism or gangsterism?

Now there's a shocker.
Pakistani's never go to East India or South India or heck even West India.
They always stick to North.

I was actually pleasantly surprised @Echelon went there at this as well.

And Even then Chennai of all places.

Though I do hope more Pakistanis visit Kerala :-)
