Ceasefire violations or exchange of fire across LOC is nothing new, however Modi wanted to prove something by creating a new terminology to perhaps put a shine on his dwindling popularity, seems it has all backfired since he's at the receiving end of surgical slaps.

dwindling popularity ? so he must be anticipating an attack like uri to take place so that he is given a chance to showcase his bravado , whether you might like it or not civilian govts are usually more interested in carrying on with their governance , dialog & diplomacy than involving in military conflicts and thats why modi invited sharif for his swearing-in ceremony and what if any indian soldier would have been killed while carrying out those surgical strikes or caught? what if any of this backfires the political implications are huge , and those suggesting all this being done for UP elections its a state election and not a national election , the issues are very different , you might wanna see the election results of lok sabha vs state elections for bihar to get an idea.

there is nothing as border action team. indian media b pagal bna rha ha apne logon ko. most sniper shots are done by rangers. they have a really bad hapit of targetting indian soldiers and then sit and watch at safe position.
infantry soldiers at indian border almost all of them have recieved anti terror training which includes ambushes,capturing a post of enemy and stuff like that. only difference is they have role as infantry which can fight like semi commando.

Post Indian surgical strike 10 Indian soldiers have been killed ,12 + Injured , + 1 BSF jawan committed suidide on 29th .
On Pakistan side there have been heavy civilian casualties .
They seriously need to arrange a Flag meeting .

I think civilians need to evacuate the area and should be cleared as its dangerous and not safe

Pakistan's SSG commandoes targetting Indian soldiers along LoC

NEW DELHI: Even though the Pakistan army has refused to accept Indian’s army’s surgical strike of September 29 on terror launch pads in Pakistan occupied Kashmir, but its commandoes of Special Service Group (SSG) has been regularly targeting Indian soldiers.

At least 10 Indian soldiers have so far been killed in multiple operations by Pakistan army including Border Action Team (BAT), snipers and heavy artillery fire.

Sepoy Maninider Singh of Sikh Regiment, whose was brutally killed by mutilated his body was handiwork of SSG commandoes, trained for lethal clandestine operations.

And last week’ killing of India rifleman Sandeep Singh Rawat was also killed by sniper fire and suspected to be done by SSG Commandoes.

Sources in the military establishment explain that after the surgical strike by Indian forces in Azad Kashmir, Pakistan has deployed nearly 700 SSG commandoes on nearly 700 kilometers of border sharing India including 200 km of International Border and 740 km of Line of Control.

An officer explained that around 15 platoon of SSG commandoes are deployed on Pakistan side that mainly form the core of its Border Action Team (BAT) and its primary task to dominate by carrying out brutal military killing by long range snipers or an ambush.

On October 23, Gurnam Singh, a BSF jawan was killed by snipers shot by Pakistani army in Hiranagar sector of Jammu. However, the BSF, in retaliatory fire claimed to have gunned down seven Pakistan Rangers on the same day.

Similarly, Sudesh Kumar of 6 Rajput Regiment was killed in sniper firing on the LoC in Tarkundi area of Rajouri on October 16.

“These were killing by professional and trained army personnel. Pakistan army has deployed snipers all the Line of Control to pick targets from a distance,” said a source. However, Indian side has also deployed long range snipers to target any militant activity moving towards Indian side.

Sources said that Pakistan army is desperate to increase their killing counts to do chest thumping. As a result of it, they are not only upto constant heavy mortar shelling, but also carrying out ambush of Indian patrols and sniper fire on Indian posts.

Military source maintain that Pakistani side is actually proving cover fire to infiltrate maximum number of terrorists in Indian side.

In fact, militants have managed to successfully infiltrate over 105 times this year, as there have been more that 60 ceasefire violations by Pakistani troops along the LoC and IB in the state since September 29 surgical strikes.

So Indians tried to do one failed attempt to cross border on Sept 29th and started chest thumping about it as surgical strikes. As I said this last week Pak Army overtly and covertly is controlling the momentum of fight at and across LOC. Pakistan has been doing cross border ops since 1990's , never bragged about it, even now, officially not claiming it as any rational state actor should behave. Pak army believes in the adversary speaking about the pain himself by being silent, swift and lethal. Mainstream Indian news outlets will continue to rebrand such covert SSG ops as terrorist activities by non state actors.

Nonsense, how did you ever conclude that, the only reason i posted this thread was due to the sad case of civilian casualties, it serves no ones purpose when poor common folks just going about their daily routine get caught up in this brinkmanship.
Albeit you and others are trying to be all civil here but just read the comments in Indian papers to understand what and how the Indians rejoice and celebrate on Pakistani casualties civilian or otherwise.
