Is Canada – India Nuclear Deal Safe For Canada?, Asks Canadian Media

Last Updated: 2009-11-18T10:18:56+05:30

Even as Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper and Indian Prime Minister Manmohan Singh resolved to deepen bilateral ties, the Canadian media says a nuclear deal could be risky because of terrorist threats to India's sites. They cite the recent alert at India's nuclear facilities as a warning to the Canadian government that is keen to clinch the deal.

In their reports, the Canadian journalists, who even spell the name of one of the most known faces of the 20th century as Ghandi (for Mahatma Gandhi), have also raked up the past - that India cannot be trusted because it appropriated their nuclear technology to make nuclear bombs.

Before embarking on this assignment, perhaps these journalists were briefed by biased Canadian bureaucrats for whom "terrorist violence, such as bombings in public areas and on public transportation, occurs throughout India....attacks can take place anywhere and at any time in India..."

Opposing the proposed civil nuclear deal between the two countries, John Ibbitson of the Globe and Mail, who is perhaps visiting India for the first time, says: "But India's nuclear facilities have been placed on high alert, as evidence emerges that two men, one of them Canadian, might have scouted sites for the terrorist attack on Mumbai last year..."

Carrying his ridiculous argument further, he writes:"Does Canada really want to help sell nuclear technology to a country that is the midst of such a volatile region, a country that in the 1970s appropriated our first foray into building Indian nuclear reactors to help fashion nuclear weapons, a country whose nuclear reactors would be an ideal ground zero for jihadists?"

Writing in the left-wing Toronto Star, Rick Westhead says: "For Harper, the visit may have to do less with new trade deals or warmed relations than with building ties to Indo-Canadian voters before the next election.

"So rather than strategizing on new bilateral investment with India's Ambani brothers, the prime minister will travel to the Golden Temple in Amritsar - the holiest shrine in the Sikh faith - and meet with Hindi film star Akshay Kumar, a torchbearer for the Vancouver Olympics."

Not surprisingly, the current Canadian prime minister has always had prickly relations with his nation's media

Yes and This sort of reaction is very natural.
But Those days are over.

With US leading to make India a real Nuclear Power and making no compromise on Indian Nuclear State in Favor of ANY country, sooner or later we'll see Majority of countries cooperating with India.

What if the kidnappers have used the Indian nuclear scientist Lokanathan Mahalingam to penetrate the Indian nuclear arsenal and use the material for a future attack on Washington or New Delhi ?

Maybe. But you won’t hear it on CNN, BBC or the rest of the Am-Brit media.

Why? Because it exposes India’s low nuclear safety standards which in turn will embarrass Washington and London, two countries that are keen to use India’s cheap soldiers to fight the Anglo-Saxon wars in Afghanistan and China.

Not a single major Am-Brit media outlet covered the story of the kidnapping and murder of a man that holds the key to the Indian nuclear arsenal.

There are no scare stories about Indian nukes falling in the wrong hands on either CNN or BBC.

Why? There are two funny reasons.

One is that the Am-Brit liar brigade spent much of its energy in the last two years trying to scare the world about Pakistan’s nukes and how the poor Pakistanis are unable to protect them.

And suddenly this happens: a major nuclear security breach in India. And India is something that the Am-Brit liar brigade wants to protect at all costs. Mainly because India is the new slave-soldier of London and Washington and is being groomed to help in sustaining the occupation of Afghanistan and confronting China.

Also, the Americans have just broken all proliferation laws and decided that India is such a responsible nuclear power that it deserves to be given advanced nuclear technology.

Imagine if this incident had happened in Pakistan. The entire Am-Brit media would have been beating the drums of war, reminding the world how dangerous and unstable Pakistan is.

But now the entire Am-Brit enterprise is embarrassed. By the way, the Am-Brit enterprise includes biased British and American diplomats in addition to think-tank types and outright rude and dimwit journalists most of whom think they know more about your country than you do.

What if one of the 14 or so separatist movements and organizations in India kidnapped the scientist to gain access to Indian nuclear bombs?

What if the terrorists have actually gained access to an Indian nuclear facility as we speak, killed the scientist and are now waiting to carry out a major terrorist act?

What if any one of those Indian separatist groups fighting for the independence of 14 out of the 28 states that make up India have used the scientist to sell information or nuclear designs to groups or countries that end up attacking the United States? It is a scary business.

But the Am-Brit media won’t cover it. Period.

This is what you call height of speculative creativity. :cheesy: Some people indeed are gifted with Vision, clarity of thought, superlative ability of expression of those thoughts... Then there are some people who buy them and use all kind of virus networks to spread them. Keep them coming... :pop:

Three arrested with suspected Uranium in Mumbai

http://img12.imageshack.us/i/metp.jpg/

Mumbai, Tuesday 08 December 2009: Navi Mumbai crime branch has arrested three people from Panvel for being in possession of a chemical looking substance that is suspected to be uranium. The material has been seized and sent to Bhabha Atomic Research Centre for further analysis.

The trio was arrested on Monday evening and as much as 5 kilograms of the material was seized from them. The city and was working on the lead for quite some time, before it carried out the actual arrests.

Police, however, refused to divulge much information about the arrested people and would be disclose more in a press conference, scheduled for later in the day.

If the substance turns out to be uranium, then it would once again put a serious question mark on the security of the country as it has not been the first time, in recent weeks, when there had been a breach in the nuke security.

Incidentally, the Panvel incident comes to light just a day after two people were arrested while stealing computer parts from the Tarapur Atomic Power Station.

Also, there has been a shocking case of alleged radiation contamination at Karnataka’s Kaiga Atomic Power Station recently.

The leak at Kaiga resulted in hospitalisation of over 50 workers of the nuke facility after they consumed the water contaminated by nuke fuel.
