I personally feel that you lot should participate more in the anti-piracy activities by joining European/Russian Navies. Our boys from Germany and France could seriously use a huge helping hand like yours.

IN is already doing much more than the German counterparts, not because the German navy wouldn't be capable, but the German politicans are just too afraid of sending troops to anything that could look like war, fights, or could end up with killed, or injured people. That's why German navy vessels that were patroling in the IO against Pirats, was not stop and check a suspicious vessel, if the captain of the vessel does not agree to it. In such cases they are limited to follow, or observe only!
Similar silly rules limits the work of German army in Agfhanistan, because although they are there for nearly 8 years now. All they did was to look for cover in their bases and train local police for duty. They couldn't actively hunt Taliban, or warlords, they even had to just sit back in their bases and do nothing, if they see Taliban near them with weapons, only if the Taliban fires first, they were allowed to fire back!

Germany is still stucked in the past and is very cautions about bad PR of their military forces. If they kill others it looks like war and the people here cry out and if their soldiers fall, things get even worse!

I am aware that the Bundeswehr are given strict orders to use defensive tactics rather than offense. Europeans are livid that their governments mostly engage in passive roles despite their soldiers dying. Apart from Britain, very few countries have actually participated in any actual combat duties with full clearance from their governments.

For instance, the Japanese contingent was mainly there for medical purposes and troop support on the battlefield while American and British forces went into the fighting.
All that guilt of world war is going to cost the Germans dearly.

I do hope that you lot are given full orders to perform combat operations against piracy without awaiting instructions from your government halfway. Nice work so far. I heard that you have sunk a pirate mothership a few months back.

^^ Yes thats true. But IN cant do this alone. European navies have to buckle up.
At least 2-3 LPDs are needed because no one knows how many ships will be under attack at the same time.
