Does anyone know which version of the Tavor MARCOS is getting? MTAR? CTAR? I know the Para SF use the standard Tavor version but I have also seen pics of the CRPF in J&K using the CTAR so would MARCOS also be getting a specialised variant? Also does anyone know what sights/accessories these rifles will come with because in the pics of the CRPF Tavor you can see that the sight is not the standard MARs sight and there were reports that the Para SF that used the rifle in J&kK loved the rifle put were a little disappointed in the MARS diggs and have since issued a RFI to replace them on all their rifles. Also it would be good Irene MARCOS Tavors came with pictanil rails so the operators could fight whatever accessories they wanted (NVGs/AVGs/Flashlights/IR designators/Visible laser sighting etc)

It seems the Tavor has become the standard SF weapon for the Indian armed forces with all these nuts ordering/operating them:
Para SF
MARCOS
GUARUD (apparently hey do but I am yet to see this so reluctant to fully accept it)
SFF
CRPF
J&K SOG
COBRA ( anti-naxal commando force of CRPF)
Ghatak platoons attached to infantry battalions
NSG

It seems there is a move to arm these Elite units with better weapons as much effort is being made to to this:
New rifles ( Tavor/Cornershot/ Sig 552 commandos/Galil etc)
New armour (BPJs) (MARCOS even get buoyant BPJs for use at sea)
Dedicated air assets (C-130-30js are configured primarily of SO use, IA is raising a dedicated SOAR using Dhruvs and Chinooks if sected, Navy already has a SOAR for MARCOS using specialised Sea Kings)
Better comms equipment
Better tactical gear (helmets,gloves,knee pads, elbow pads etc)
Better strike veichles ( RFIs have Already gone out to replace the modified Gypsies in use right now)
Longer range sniper rifles (50. Cal)
And much much more!

So now some of the best operators in the world (not just person opinion- many foreign SFs such as US and UK have commented on how impressive they are, aswell as winning the SF competition in Africa) Are going to get the best equipment in the world. It's a marriage made in heaven ( Or hell if you're the enemy!)

The picture which I believe you saw of a CRPF Soldier holding a Tavor is that of a MTAR-21 not CTAR-21 the sight is Mepro but I am not sure which one specifically I believe it's MEPRO 21.

Well the MARCOS seem to be ahead when it comes to upgrading their gear.The one really new good thing I saw about the MARCOS body armour was the introduction of PALS webbing this is I believe the first Indian unit to integrate there body armour PALS webbing which makes it easier to attach more pouches and accessories like Magazine Pouches, hydration pack and whatnot.

The Tavors do come with Picattiny rails they are on the right side of the foregrip and one where the MARS sight is mounted.

Well our special forces still lack a lot when it comes to equipment.We don't have a dedicated long range sniper rifle.We don't have a dedicated LMG except the Negevs with MARCOS and not a good sidearm I mean we only have Glock 17's and 1A 9mm Auto's for the SF also no shotguns.

I read somewhere that US Army boots are bulletproof against small arms fire.

Anyways i had a 5000rs CAT boot but its nowhere in front of the 650rs boot which the Indian Army soldiers buy from the Wet Canteen.

These are the boots that I bought in leh at the canteen for 800. they were extremely grippy on snow and very warm and light weight. now they are my riding boots. they are also water proof to a very large extent.

under the sole it says made in italy :-?

Yeah its sad. I mean we have opened our Defense sector to private industries thats a nice step but we are interested only in offset not in developing new technology or support the industry which has some good product. I think we should also allow private companies to develop rifle for our forces, why only DRDO should work. Rifle development won't even need much investment in RnD and this way we might get a good product.

Can you show me the photo of the MARCOS with the shotgun?Also about the MARCOS with PALS webbing even the Garuda use it but it's not integrated into their body armour they use assault vests with PALS webbing.The MARCOS pics that recently came on live fist have the PALS webbing on their body armour

See the Dark Black strip like thing directly above where the plates are placed that's the PALS webbing.You can also see pouches and stuff attached that's how it' used to integrate all the accessories.Also the operator in the foreground all those magazines pouches are attached using PALS.
