And yet here we are 66 years later about to step into the year 2014... There is a difference between cultural affinity and national identity....

In all fairness your national identity is multifaceted with Islam as its core and derives its values and morals. Then you have the ethnic identity derived by your four provinces with their own languages, culture and folk lore. Then you have the territorial as well as historic narrative of that of the partition.

In my humble opinion you are still debating whether Islam should form the base of identity since your country was formed on Islam. Many of your leader in past 66 years used this as a panacea for all the ills and to suppress regional demands. But is it enough to form the unifying force at the cost of diverse cultural pluralism.

And what this all has to do with a Indian movie being enjoyed in Pakistan beggars belief... But I will bite this bait for second if you wish...

Which country doesn't:

The UK: Irish, Scotting, Welsh, English... Celt, AngloSaxon, Norman, Britannic, Roman Catholic, Protestant, Church of England, Druidism, Socialist, Conservative, Neo Liberal, Liberal, Communist, Nationalist, Fascist.

I can give other examples too you know.. :P

:offtopic:Now please stop derailing this thread,
there are plenty of threads for you to discuss your "insight" on Pakistan and its multifarious problems. And whilst your there, please write a policy document for our president and prime minister to study too... *tips hat*

Because in your totally inaccurate post you stated this:

Indian movies r banned in ur country as per ur country law, even ur supreme court has banned them n yet Indian movies r biggest blockbusters in Pak. How such things r happening u need to ask urself...

PS : there is no Ban on Pakistani movies in India, some Pakistani movies like Bol have been released in India, its only TV channels we don't allow.

While clearly the thread is about an Indian movie doing well in Pakistan.

hahahahaha

What i said was not any false propaganda, however i do admit that it was High Court n not Supreme court that gave the verdict that Indian movies should be banned in Pak but apparently there r some loopholes in law which allows them to launch in Pak.

http://m.ibnlive.com/news/dont-certify-indian-films-says-pakistani-court/440812-8-66.html

Even then my most doesn't convert into Islamist/Hindutva $hit but if u wanna see every thing from religious point of view then i can't help it.

As we project our soft power in your country, we will take solitude that our cultural invasion will ultimately soften your stance with respect to our country.

Peace...

There is no such thing is "soft power", 80/90's american grew up on Bruce Lee, Jacki Chan and Jet Lee... Yet the hatred for China is apparent... cultural dominance is a social scientists pipe dream. There is "cultural affinity", don't confuse that with this sociology mumbo jumbo...

As for respect, respect is a two way street.

Your insecurity by banning Indian movies for past 40 years is a dead give away. Sorry to bust your bubble...

Keep up with your gandasa culture and hate filled Waar movies. LOL.

@RescueRanger,

Sir your posts are very informative and especially when you use photographs to convey your message. The use of burnol was a classy one and it makes you look really cool. In fact as cool as anyone would look in Salwar Kameez.
My sarcasm meter is twitching... So don't know if serious! But thank you :)

Oh yaar

Why are you cr@pping a happy thread,

a thread that celebrates mutual enjoyment of people between two countries.

Would you rather see mad Mullahs burning Indian Saris

or

would you rather appreciate Pakistani cinema goers enjoying a bollywood flick even when it is kind of sub-standard.

Hope you see the light and rid yourself of this extra ghussa.
