What's new

Indian media: 4,000 top scientists in the world: 482 people in China, India: ehhhhhhhhhh, 10

You are completely wrong, the cases are not absolute terms plus its only a survey which statistically speaking is the least reliable method of quantification or measurement.

Again these surveys are taken in relation to ( percentage) population, not in absolute terms you thick head.

Did you ever goto school?

Also dont divert the topic. India is Rape capital of world, doesnt matter Pakistan is number 6 or 60.

NOPE---- surveys are taken in relation to ( percentage) population.... Not True

The shitty list you posted earlier is not rape list ok. Its about most countres dangerous for women, countries like Afghanistan and Saudi arabia are on the list not for rape but because of lack of equal opportunities to women, however India is at the top mostly because of rape related against women. Pakistan is on the list for lack of infrastructure and low literacy rate ( comparatively) and unequal work opportunities.

Now dont quote me in you non sense posts. Now STFU and stay on topic.

Wow...great double standard... Man, Bravo....

There is no any report based on Rape but people here claim based on below survey.

The world's most dangerous countries for women
According to the survey:

1. India
2. Afghanistan
3. Syria
4. Somalia
5. Saudi Arabia
6. Pakistan
7. Democratic Republic of Congo
8. Yemen
9. Nigeria
10. United States

He was comparing India's 10 scientists from a population of more than a billion vs Pak's 6 from a much lesser population. So as a percentage Pak is either even or ahead(too lazy to do the calculation).

What u have provided is apparently a survey according to u. Soooo that's ppl's opinions I assume...it doesn't involve percentages. How are these two things even remotely related?

education means ...marks which you get by sheer " RATTA"..or learning by rote!!!

no scope for independent Thinking...challenging the norm...hence no innovation in India.. no significant patents registered...and no investment in R & D...

With half the seats in education are given on quota system, what can we expect from India? We are only making cyber coolies

The above comments reflect clearly what is wrong with Indian education and research - the blind race for exam marks, for college graduation degrees and work with no innovation-thinking ( the infamous cyber-coolies of Bangalore city especially ).

I will raise a simple question - every year a few hundred thousand computer engineers graduate out of hundreds of colleges. This has been on for years now, so why has been there no Indian Operating System and an Indian Microprocessor ?? Why couldn't these two items be designed in India from scratch ??

Plus, the governments don't provide seed funding to deserving projects so that these projects can go from theory to prototype. And the private venture capital funds won't fund unless the product or the company has been in the market for some time.

About China, it is not as if the Chinese are the most brilliant minds. It is just that they work and invest on ideas mostly developed elsewhere - whether this is a space station module or an exoskeleton or AI.

Yes that problem of "ratta baazi" and blind race for degrees and passing ur exams with flying colors exists in India and Pakistan both.

I agree...especially with ur last paragraph about how there's nothing special about any group of ppl. It just comes down to how much hard work is done by a nation that determines their progress.

The reason why Chinese/Pakistani members are bringing up these things is only as a counter to Indian trolls who jump up and down and claim how India is the hub of knowledge exporting doctors and scientists while everything China does are cheap copies and Pakistan is incapable of doing anything...things along these lines. So this is just to show them the mirror.

Indians are turning out to be world leaders in terrorism and right wing facisim

Bro i am a PG student, and just yesterday our teacher returned us Checked papers to see if there are any mistakes in checking. There was a fill in the blank which was as in slides “incentives should be such that it gets the workers imagination”. The word imagination was a blank where i wrote “attention” . And the teacher marked that wring.

Similarly i wrote

Incentives should be given only if the entire crew perform well.

Me ? Entire= whole.

Teacher ? Cross. Wrong.

I was so frustrated. But what can possibly a student do ? The subject name was “Safety management” i suggested the teacher to rename it to “memorizing competition”.

Its 11, if the minister who claimed cows produce more oxygen then co2.
It would be 12 if you include the following guy who claims that gravitational waves will be renamed as Narendra Modi Waves.
Indian Scientist Claims Gravitational Waves Will Be Renamed As ‘Narendra Modi Waves’

He claimed that modern Physics will be completely destroyed and asserted that a new understanding of Physics will emerge based on his observations.

Kanan also said that once as the common understanding of physics will change, Gravitational Waves will be renamed as 'Narendra Modi Waves' and Gravitational Lensing Effect will be renamed as 'Hashvardhan Effect'.

Kanan is a senior research scientist at the World Community Service Centre at Aliyar, Tamil Nadu. He was speaking in Jalandhar, on the second day of the five-day event organised by the Indian Science Congress Association, Kolkata.
He went on to say that Issac Newton's understanding of gravity was completely flawed.
"Newton was not able to understand gravitational repulsive force, which is why he was not able to answer most questions related to gravity. His calculations were perfect but there was a problem in his theoretical physics. I have been able to solve these theories."
The researcher said that things move at a particular speed because of the self-compressive nature of space and not due to gravity.

While the event is aimed to inculcate scientific temper among people, these statements are surely not helping achieve the objective.

Actually the number from Pakistan should be 7.The reason for this Dr Tasawar HAyat from Quaid-I-Islamabad is highly cited researcher in two field Mathematics and Engineering.I know him very well.I feel very proud. He is my university fellow and friend.I still remember the day when he joined the university. He is very humble and down to earth person.
