Indian Helicopter Was Most Likely Also Shot Down by PAF

You know what was really the most interesting part about Indian Air Force's decades of preparedness, with $Billions spent on so much hardware?

When Modi rubbished the Indian Air Force with one sentence:

'If we had Rafale, results would have been different': PM Modi :partay:
yeah the result would've been different cuz instead of the su30, the rafale would've been shot down! :enjoy:

PAF had nothing to do with Mi 17. Mi 17 had taken off without informing traffic controller. It was shot down by IAF.

And that is the truth.
that is pathetic! your chopper was shot down in the line of duty, 6 officers and crew members lost their lives and instead of acknowledging their sacrifice in the line of duty, you are going to label them all indisciplined goons who were "shot down by the iaf because they apparently took off without informing the traffic controller"!!! PATHETIC and LOW BEYOND BELIEF! what a typical, indian baniya way of getting away with NOT paying pension to the families of the dead...label their sacrifice as a result of indiscipline and negligence...HOW CONVENIENT!!!

no wonder indian military personnel have very low moral, be it land, air or the sea. they know their government and military will NOT back up them up if they get killed!

What? Is that how IAF does to its own officers violating SoP? Shot down without any warnings? That too well inside indian airspace.

Hypothetically, what if the AIM 120 was fired from a JF-17???

No.. JF-17 has its own armament to deal with such threats and it proved. Information will make out to public very slowly but eventually, will come out by sometimes.

A very senior officer in IAF.

No, it was mistake.

IAF lastly promised grieving families, 15 days to complete investigation for this. Still waiting for official statement. Is there any chance to read it soon?

However, this "Blue on Blue" thing is not a good sign at all. Don't want to play point scoring over death of fallen soldiers but, I am sure, such humiliating acknowledgment wouldn't be made just to avoid any Pakistani random claim.

"Assuming" = Yes. Moving towards the border, it wasn't exactly bringing mitahi.

ISPR is always right.
Lets make it simple, you are making a point that, the Mi-17 was brought down by PAF? is this your analysis, or backed by some authentic source?

I am not asking about source? just asking that your saying of Mi-17 being hit by PAF, is this authentic or not.

Great, to teach everyone a lesson to follow SOP next time, make an example by shooting down your own chopper

Lol at those saying IAF officers took the chopper without informing anyone

Does that happen in any airforce?

Helicopter hai ya mamu ki gari Jo jab dil chaha lai k nikal gaye. What nonsense

Put it this way, the IAF and Indian MOD know well what happened to the Mi-17, helicopters don't just explode in mid-air and that too around same time as when two IAF aircraft are shot down.
But if this is a PAF kill, why didn't we admit it? I mean we admit that we brought down 2 Indian aircrafts, why will we not admit the Mi-17 kill, after all its also a military target, not a civilian one.

May be they took out the chopper to run some errands in the local grocery store. You never know.

The Mi17 was brought down by the AMRAAM fired by the F16 tracking the Su30, but the lock was broken and the AMRAAM found a new target, the unfortunate heli and went after it. The Indians showing Aim-120 piece was from the helicopter hit.

P.S. War is very much on. India & Co. aren't content with licking wounds. Pak remains the ground zero of the Greatest Game.
Yes, the last time it was 100 years back!!! But, 100 years do make a change....

If you can't win get killed and don't come back - General Sam Manekshaw to his men in 1971

In the Indian mindset, soldiers dead = soldiers defeated....
