Indian chopper forced to land in Olding, Pakistan, after violating airspace

I don't know why the indians are complaining, they would have done the exact same, it was totally legitimate for Pakistan to do this.

Precisely! Stop flying into Pakistan or stop whining... Besides... helipad locations are not that big a deal. Codes need to be changed thats it.

I am so confused at the language used by Hindustan Times! Indians using the word Bharati so liberally... Ok I guess the first part are your comments and the rest is their article... I'm going to tweak it up a bit so that it reflects that clearly.

Whatever

"A report in a Pakistani paper says the military scrambled a combat jet after an Indian Army helicopter strayed into Pakistani airspace yesterday. The Dawn newspaper also says that the Indian crew was warned that the aircraft would be fired at if it tried to escape."

Pak scrambled combat jet after Indian chopper strayed: Report

But using the indian data, we can use Chinese satellite imagery to precisely locate all the indian installations, the indian army is going through with a high level investigation, they believe this is a serious breach of security.

It also mentions that the precise GPS co-ordinates were down loaded by us.

the helicopter was already deep inside there territory had it tried to escape it would have been shot down that is what we did in 1999 to the Atlantique IAF MiG-21's were escorting it to a airbase in Gujarat when it turned around and made a dash for the border which is why it was shot down

and codes and locations are great what are you guys going to do with it? Siachen is like 20,000 ft high we have heavily armed and defended posts up there with our helipads so what you know of them we already know about your strategic installations as well through our satellites btw even if you did get satellite imagery it would do no good as the conditions up in Siachen are too brutal for any force to attack so you know how we supply our forces but you will not be able to take them out so really useless

Only Indian post-facto words are there to prove this... Officially Pakistan helped an Indian crew, allowed their chopper to be repaired on Pakistani grounds and sent them back home.

Indians are raising an issue on the data - where is the thank you for saving the lives of your people? I guess its a convenient ruse to distract people from an obvious kindness shown by the Pakistanis and now Pakistanis don't fit the perceptions of monstrosity that they peddle to their public.

funny.....the indians act insulted whenever i refer to them as bharatis

as for what is said -- well to be quite frank and open about it --you'd be naiive to think "sleuths" (as they call them) didn't have a "peak" or two to see what they could find. They would be more than within their right to do so.

but people should also be advised from thinking that some kind of tracking beacon or something like that would be placed somewhere on the aircraft....the Pakistanis are also smart enough to know that the bharatis are also smart enough to sniff out the aircraft for bugs...

any information we MAY have got from the forcefully landed aircraft could or could not be helpful, they can decide for themselves....such info would obviously never be made public, so we may never know what they did or didn't "download"

and also keep in mind that indians may want to save "face" by trying to now turn the situation around and make it look like WE are "spying" on them.....when in fact, we released those guys 4-5 hours after they were briefly detained. The indians know that we could have kept that aircraft and sent those guys on a bus ride back to the border. There'd be nothing they could do about it.

But.... we did not do that. From what i've read, the indians actually left with their dignity intact. Re-fuelled helicopter and a clearance for takeoff!

it's a bit of a pattern......

All intelligence has value, and PGM's can be used to take out these targets, because we have precise co-ordinates now.

Which radar system of our detected the Helicopter and which Fighters we used to force the helicopter to land in our Area ?

They were supposed to download the data to rule out what Indians were doing inside. They were able to analysis data quickly and then the helli and crew was released. One can get an Idea of how much and how significant that data could have been given the duration of whole forced land drama (the official word of PA and bravado Pakistani media), investigation and to the release of the crew.

As i mentioned on another thread with discussion with Imran the same scenario is popping out as the case.

The Helli was not forced land but it was detained after when it landed at unknown helipad, which was actually Pakistani. Pakistani defences were not able to trace it when it was in the air.

Now you guys have got the new job to claim/twist things to your advantage after this new revelation. One guy is already calling out Indians who were thanking PA but not mentioning how there were demanding the thanks too. Quite a typicality i can see.

. . .
What are they going to do with gps data. It will be souvenir for pakistan, couple of hr work waste to reload the data.

But thanks for releasing heli and armyman without any drama. Appreciated.

.
see, that's the thing...i don't know what "bravado" you are referring to....

no "bravado" from Pakistani side; our side (media included) has been fairly calculated and calm about it. Just reporting what happened. It's certain media and some section of the viewers on the other side which are acting bruised and making more commotion about it. I agree that at the end of the day, it's not really a big deal --especially since both countries seem to be showing more maturity nowdays and signalling at least outwardly towards a desire for cooperation

Pakistan has every right to defend its sovereignty. But hitting the heli with a misslie sounds a bit extreme, as per newspaper reports they strayed into pakistan due to bad weather
Sir this heli belonged to a country with which we had fought 4 wars and were about to have war many times so it was not and easy to let Heli go
