Indian arrogance dashed to ground: Celebrations & Meme flood by Pakistanis

N

Let's not get carried away with just one win. P.S. nothing beat 1986 last ball six by Javed Miadaad to win the Sharjah cup. That famous last ball victory actually started great Pakistan India cricket rivlary
Oh please get over it, only the uncles remember that now. It might have been special for some time, but there have been far better things since then. Afridi's two sixes off Ashwin were ten times better.

@Zaki and @Cookie Monster .... Pakistan played very well and appreciated but please don't underestimate India to the level that new entrants like Afghanistan can beat India..... We are still the masters of cricket ground..... We are so dangerous in cricket who can spoil next party for anyone.....
That's not the take away of this thread. The entire thread started bcuz India started to act mighty...inflated its own ego...and for what?
Can't this same be said for all teams? There are plenty of teams that(using ur words) "are so dangerous in cricket who can spoil next party of anyone"...
...but did u see any other team have such ego? Did u see any other country making ads like "mauqa mauqa" and other such big talk as ur ppl(Harbajhan Singh and the likes did)?

Win or lose...that's part of the game...it's the arrogance that India shows...which is why this thread exists. Did u see a thread like this created for any other teams? Did u see mockery at this scale of any other teams? It is this arrogance that invites ridicule when u can't match up to all u claimed to be. Learn to be humble...learn sportsmanship. Stop this childish act(as a country) when it comes to cricket(or any other sports).

one crazy prediction & an arrogant little sanghi who instantly regretted it...😎

The Pakistan India match was more than about the sport of cricket. Bukha Dutt's article is gracing the front page of Washington Post right now, especially critical of the way M. Shami was attacked by some Indians. And the 'Comments' are not very gracious toward India either.
So to those above who think this is just sport and ignore: No! This match was played against a wide context--involving one third of humanity, no less! Not only the match was a win for Pakistan but the social media coverage was even bigger win for Pakistan.

" Pakistan walked away with the match, and as happens so often with big-ticket playoffs, Indians were heartbroken. Some people online started making coarse and lewd comments about the defeat. The person who got the worst of it was 31-year-old player Mohammed Shami. Toxic, brazenly Islamophobic comments were left on his Instagram page, suggesting that he was a traitor, one who could take the next flight out to Pakistan. Shami was singled out in a different way than other players, and the language used for him was directly related to his being Muslim. In fact, he is the only Muslim on the team’s playing lineup for this tournament — a fact that would have been irrelevant had the hate directed at him online not underscored his religion. "

The real defeat for India is because of these uncivilized hooligans, both online and offline. Beating up Kashmiris because they don't support a sports team and calling out Shami is the height of insanity.

It seems like a significant percentage of Indians still lack the maturity that comes with civilization. :hitwall:

Bravo!
I think by jailing medical students and teachers--some of whom are females-- the Indian govt is only going to highlight the fissures inside India for the world to see. Those inside India should have been left alone!! Burkha Dutt column is not going to be the only one in Western media talking about the such things....

China joining the ICC (International Cricket Council) as a full member
That will be interesting
given China's superb performance in the Olympics, they'll probably dominate ICC for a long time!

To be honest with you I have a gut feeling that indeed Afghanistan can beat not only India but also Pakistan. They seem to be in good form, played a lot of club cricket and their spin bowling is really good with the likes of Rashid and Mujeeb. Almost every player in their squad is a power hitter and their only downside is that they don’t rotate the strike. They might waste 50 dot balls but will hit 10 sixes which basically translates to 6 runs per over…

on their day they might be able to defend the total against any opponent if they end up hitting 10-15 sixes and couple of 4s when they landed before the boundary… on other day they will lose all wickets for 50-80 because some of their sixes would have been caught and they do not know anything a part from hitting beyond the boundary…
