Indian Army using Bofors and heavy artillery after getting a beating

.
will Pakistan use M110 ? :P

I don't think that any professional force will violate RoE that too at such tensed yet highly observed point which may not just give a reason to other side to be more aggressive but will also draw attention of big eyebrows keeping a check as such. Then, there will be no room left to complain later.

.
The question arises that what type of gun India may use as such?

India was forced to bring in a heavy calibre, it means that IA is getting a beating and PA weapons are effective. even if IA increases range of 155mm to 40 km, it still is near to 130mm.

No, small calibres are very effective when used in the proper manner.

That is indeed a reason to bring in heavy barrel by IA. The complex geography & terrain with difficult trajectory actually minimizes the working of some suggested guns. Hence, the nature actually bounds forces to use similar/alike type caliber though, tactics makes the one bit successive to make it to target. If the need arises, we do have couple of choices, at LoC/specific point of action to throw an effective punch. Just saying.

They are bringing in 155mm to hit concrete civilian structures and damage bridges used by civilians.

They can destroy PA bunkers by using ATGM's, just like PA does.

Who said anything about the beating. Why scared then. How come you accuse a member as troll? Don't you just think before typing? We can do better for a conversation without doing so.

Read the thread title.

None seeks any reason to escalate it to next level. Soldiers posted at point of action, can understand and are well aware that who is using what hence, anyone raising the bar, should also expect bigger reply. This is the emphasis, which I highlighted to a friend here

Be sure, the IA knows what you guys can come up with. If they have escalated, they have done so after due consideration.

You may have noticed something in last couple of days w.r.t. new development at LoC which may give an idea that any future escalation may lead to where. Residents shifting homes, freeing area due to shelling, PA will be at ease to act without fear of civilian being hit and now we can calculate the aggressive fire in reply.

Read my first post not related to title.

Both sides are sure per own calculations, observations & findings. Read my above post to understand further.

These skirmishes have been happening for a long time between India and Pakistan, but this will not change the ground realities in Kashmir.
It’s just that modern media is quick to report and blow it out of proportions for their TRPs.

Pakistan cannot militarily achieve any of its objectives against the might of the Indian armed forces, this has been proven time and again in the many wars that both countries have fought.

no need.

130mm has more range and packs a punch comparable to 155mm.

130mm . 27 km - 38 km
155mm. 22 km - 25 km

A drawback of 130mm is that it isn't a howitzer.

Why its a draw back?

Whats wrong with use of bofors? If we have the advantage using bofors and our soldiers lives are at stake we should use it.Pak artillery(the 155 mm american guns ,122mm and 130 mm soviet/chinese guns) has no real answer to bofors in range and brute power.
Pakistan has Panter howitzer which has range of 18 km to 40 km coupled with Aselsan BAIKS-2000 Field Artillery Battery Fire Direction system.Firing 42 kg shell at ranges upto 40 km,it easily outguns FH88.
Pakistan as also M198 155mm.
You can say that when India deploys state of the Art M777's,they would really be game changers. At that stage Pakistan may be forced to procure Ah-4 from china.
Rest assured today Nor India, Nor Pakistan has much advantage on each other on LOC,when it comes to Artillary.

Weight of 155mm shell is about 42 kg,
Weight of M46 130mm Shell is about 33 Kg,Bofor has advantage as compared to M46 a.k.a Type 59-i.
I have no data on Guided shells of 130mm,Pakistan may have Guided Munitions for them.

@Signalian
Actually none of these Guns has any disastorus effect due to geography and altitude sometimes when compared to well placed and well directed 120mm Mortor Battery. In hilly areas these little tubes can bring Havoc,on enemy sitting anywhere.

Don't talk stupid. Nothing especial about bofors just a lot of Indian hype. Indians don't have any self propelled howitzers and in terms of calibre we have bigger guns 203mm.

203mm guns are totally obsolete and very heavy. You can't use them in mountain terrain in LOC.Self propelled howitzers are deployed in the desert and punjab plains, not LOC mountains.(Even then american self propelled guns have less range than bofors).Pak army has no towed mobile artillery with range and power of bofors, thats why they couldn't counter it in kargil despite having height advantage.

Nothing wrong from defensive or counter attack point of view for a force but India one's up the level of caliber as such, other side may bring in more heavier gun. May be the emphasis is, India couldn't counter current PA caliber attack so bringing in heavier one which will actually give PA a reason to come with next level fire power. The question arises that what type of gun India may use as such?

There is no next level of firepower.Pak towed artillery in mountainous terrain of LOC consists of 122mm and 130mm older guns and 155mm american guns with less range than bofors.
