Indian Army to move air defence units closer to Pakistan border

They regularly fly caps near Rajasthan and they also activated another air strip near sindh.bahawalpur has more chances of attack because of their obsession with jaish.they will do it again and we must not allow them to enter in our territory.i think they are waiting for elections.another term for modi means disaster for pakistan.look at current situation.i believe if we really killed their su-30 than they will do something to take revenge.even on 28 Feb,they wanted to attack Karachi so it's clear that they selected targets in Karachi.i don't know if it's a military target or religious building.
We have more defense assets on both (Bahawalpur and Karachi) then LOC SAMs, fighter jets RADARS, if you think they attack Karachi from from east and by air then they have least chance to Attack Karachi or if you think they will attack Karachi from sea then we also have lots anti ship missiles to care of Indian ships from land and from air and so both places have least chance be an attack @Arsalan 345 :disagree: current SAMs build up is on LOC, this ,means their expected next targets will either on Azad Kashmir or Khybar pakhtunka @Arsalan 345 :agree:

Moving up close to border their air defense umbrella invites direct retaliation and serious escalation and it just shows the amount of Thrashing IAF has has taken on 27th Feb. beyond any doubt.

I like how our army puts every step in the public domain ? Maybe give the GPS locations of all the new positions?

go find your israeli supplied much vaunted green pine radar in kashmir..if you find it in ashes ...then you will understand what has happened

India should look for new suppliers in all honesty. Israeli weapons, air defence and sub systems have completely failed to protect it during operation swift retort.
All “export” versions - no matter where they are from - are vulnerable to being debugged!!! Hence, indigenous solutions have no alternatives....

Also turkey is getting S400. We should try to get hands on S400 in both china & turkey to prepare counter tactics.
Turley’s land-based KORAL EW system is already there!!! It’s originally based on countering Greek S-300 systems!! Worked fine in Syria!! As for S-400 little fine tuning may be required. Air- and sea-borne versions are being prepared. I think Pak Milgem ships will have it...

It means their systems have already got compromised!!! Otherwise, nobody would leave AD systems open to enemy’s SIGINT ops....

I feel as long as Pakistan reins in the terrorists it has nothing to fear from India.
It has already got in line after the 26th feb punitive bombing as the terrorist activity in jk has reduced to neglegible. And remember these are the summer months when infiltration is at the highest normally.
Of course now that india has tasted blood, their is always a chance of more preemptive strikes on Pakistani territory, incase of additional intelligence inputs. And I say this only because Modi has shifted the goal posts with the 26th Feb strikes. With a Congress government, I am not sure what policy will be followed. Though Important to remember that the 1971 Pakistani defeat was under the Congress government. Interesting days ahead.

I agree with this part.

As long as there are no new bomb blasts or attacks on CRPF in India, Modi has no reason to attack pakistan.

Besides pakistan govt. has started taking some action to deal with India specific terrorist groups. Since this is being done under pressure, there is not guarantee how long this effort will last. But they will probably last till the next Modi term.

pakistan is yet to safely negotiate FATF and IMF and is unlikely to do anything that will jeopardize this.

The move itself seems to be the result of the Mi-17 shot down due to friendly fire and they just want to ensure the SAM is more risk to PAF rather than IAF or IA. Better safe than sorry.

Great news, we will be able to toast these missile batteries without even having to cross the LOC.

Guys S400 and brahmos missile is real threat for us. Even developed countries are scratching heads to find solution.
every weapon can be evaded or counterd.

Another term for Modi means disaster for India actually.Congress is the real threat as they will work for prosperous India unlike Modi.

As far as targets are concerned, both sides have selected targets long time ago and even have planned missions for them. You dont wait for a standoff to occur to select targets and plan missions for them.

Indian Army to move air defence units closer to Pakistan border
By ANI | General News | Last Updated at May 14 2019 14:30 IST

After a deep internal review of the recent conflict with Pakistan, the Indian Army is planning to deploy a number of its air defence units close to the border to thwart aerial threats emanating from Pakistan.

"Some of the fighting formations including air defence and other defensive formations are now planned to be moved closer to the borders," top Army sources told ANI.

"With these air defence units deployed closer to the border, we would be able to tackle any possible aerial strike from enemy side and thwart it close to the border itself," they said.

The sources said the location of the air defence units deployed in Jammu and Kashmir, Punjab, Gujarat and Rajasthan were reviewed by the force and it was felt that a number of them can be moved to forward locations to thwart enemy aerial strikes close to the borders itself.

The air defence assets of the Indian Army include the indigenous Akash air defence missile systems along with the Russian Kvadrat and other old legacy systems. The force is also set to soon receive the latest MR-SAM air defence system which has been produced by the DRDO-Israel joint venture.

After India hit the Jaish-e-Mohammed terrorist training camp in Balakot town of Khyber Pakhtunwa province of Pakistan, the neighbouring country launched a big aerial attack in Jammu sector along the Line of Control.

Even though the attack was thwarted by the Air Force air defence fighters including the MiG-21s and the Su-30MKIs and one Pakistani F-16 was also shot down, it was felt that presence of air defence units in the area could have caused more damage to the Pakistanis.

Due to the aggressive response of the Air Force, the Pakistanis could come only a couple of kilometres inside the Indian territory.

The Pakistani air attack on February 27 was in response to the Balakot hits by the Indian Air Force a day earlier.

Hahaha , so is it normal for an army to move its assets and tell its enemy about it at the same time , lol ... they are just trying to intimidate us  but we won't be scared , so they should'nt bother ...
