10 Sqds of JF-17s and F-16s (Block 52 plus MLU) - 250 - Su 30 Mki - 270
NOte- Su 30 mki is not a bad or outdated fighter aircraft ... it is 4.5 gen aircraft - during the day, she was equipped with Max 90 KM AAM VS F 16 110 KM AAM....... now, it has got the upgraded missiles with range approx 110 KM.....

2 sqds of ROSE Mirages (obsolete but handy for strike/attack) - if these are handy then Jaguar, Mig 29, and the newest Mirage 200 are handier.

Equal capable to F 16 = Mirage 2000 fighters with AAM 110 KM ...... I am not adding Mig 29 UPG and Mig 29 Keven that have AAM with 110 KM range....

PAF was and is never having such leverage over the IAF after 1971 and would not see that will happen also,,

If we talk about 42 fighter squad needed then we say that we need 42 for Two front war.. including China.

We need 42 to fight against the chinese.... IAF always has the numerical advantage and PAF does not have any technical advantage over IAF...... except AWACS Aircrafts

Again, I post facts and you post wishful thinking.

The SU-30MKI is not 4.5th gen by anyones criteria. Do you even know what the defination is of 4.5th gen? Feb 27th showed that it was outgunned by the F-16 and SU-30s spent most of their time avoiding AMRAAMs and not taking a shot, that is not me stating it but an admission by your very own IAF.

Relativeky speaking the IAF was in a stronger position against PAF in '65 and '71 then it is now. Astra MK2 is not even in service or properly qualified, there has been no Tejas delivery (not a single one) in 18 months.

Again, hard to debate you when I use facts and you continue to use fiction....

Do not bother, he will try and convince you the BARS is an AESA simply because IAF flies the plane and his mislaid pride cannot accept that early 90s tech is no match for 2020s tech....

If it does the job, why not. Being a developing we have to improvise in lots of ways to get things done as don't have budget to purchase specialized equipments. Back in the 70s our space agency didn't even had money to purchase special vehicles to transport Satellite as it needed to be transported in a non-magnetic environment so regular trucks were not an option. So they had two choices one was to purchase expensive vehicles to the job straining ISROs already tight budget, second they can literally transport million dollar satellite on a wooden cart driven by cattle. And walla.
