What's new

Indian Activist speaks about rampant caste bias among the Indian diaspora in the United States.

The truth is for all their faults the British tamed, civilized South Asians and I would even include myself in that category. I am not saying they did this for charity or some altruistic reason but fact is colonialsm is a comoplex matter and it involves all sort of dynamics.

Well lucky it was the British and not the Spanish. The Spanish have zero patience for stuff like this.

why dont you stick to the question I asked you precedently first.
You still haven't answered about the President of Republic of India's caste??
Not just banning cow slaughter-
1. Dr Ambedkar considered the mahavakyas of Upanishads the spiritual basis of democracy
2.
Dr Ambedkar considered the Hindu Civil Code the first step towards a Uniform Civil Code.
3. Dr Ambedkar was against giving Indus water to Pakistan without Pakistan acknowledging Indian farmers’ first rights over the river.
4. Dr Ambedkar wanted Sanskrit to be the national language of India.
5. Dr Ambedkar wanted an Indian army free of the preponderances of elements hostile to India.
6. Dr Ambedkar viewed with suspicion the missionary support for the movement of 'Dalit' causes.
7. Dr Ambedkar wanted the Indian state to run an Indian Priest Service for Hinduism.

Yeah you heard it right A priest .
why don't you construe the both sides of the story mate,
shed your Pakistani perspective to shed some light on the truth.

You like blabbering about Indian Muslim caste system don't you, and Hindu (so called) "caste system"
Lets analyze riyasat e medina first ,

The July 2010 Lahore bombings killed 50 people and wounded 200 others in two suicide bombings on the Sufi shrine, Data Durbar Complex in Lahore.

The 2016 Khuzdar bombing on a Sufi shrine in Balochistan killed more than 47 people.

Pakistan made an amendment to its constitution in 1974, declaring Ahmadis as non-Muslims. In the following decade, military dictator Muhammad Zia-ul-Haq prohibited Ahmadis from calling themselves as Muslims.

The May 2010 Lahore attacks left 94 dead and more than 120 injured in nearly simultaneous attacks against two mosques of the minority Ahmadiyya Community Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan, as well as their Punjab wing, claimed responsibility for the attacks and were also blamed by the Pakistani police.

The Ahmadi community released a persecution report in 2018 in which the discrimination faced by Ahmadis in Pakistan has been detailed including "indiscriminate arrests" of people from the community. Ahmadis are forbidden to call themselves Muslims or use Islamic symbols in their religious practices. They are also mandated to declare themselves as Non-Muslims in order to vote in general elections. Another report listed 3963 news items and 532 editorial pieces in the country's Urdu-language media for spreading "hate propaganda" against Ahmadis.

In September 2018, several Islamist groups in Pakistan publicly opposed the selection of Atif Mian, who is from the Ahmadi community, as a member of the government's Economic Advisory Council. He was removed less than a week after selection owing to pressure from Islamist groups. Voice of America reported that after the ouster of Mian the "Ahmadi community fears a renewed sense of religious intolerance and discrimination" in Pakistan

Shia Ithna 'ashariyah are estimated to be 5–7% of the country's population. Pakistan, like India, is said to have at least 5-7% Shias.

Shias allege discrimination by the Pakistani government since 1948, claiming that Sunnis are given preference in business, official positions and administration of justice. Attacks on Shias increased under the presidency of Zia-ul-Haq, with the first major sectarian riots in Pakistan breaking out in 1983 in Karachi and later spreading to Lahore and Balochistan. Sectarian violence became a recurring feature of the Muharram month every year, with sectarian violence between Sunnis and Shias taking place in 1986 in Parachinar.[ In one notorious incident, the 1988 Gilgit Massacre, Osama bin Laden-led Sunni tribals assaulted, massacred and raped Shia civilians in Gilgit after being inducted by the Pakistan Army to quell a Shia uprising in Gilgit.

Shias allege discrimination and persecution by the Pakistani government since 1948, claiming that Sunnis are given preference in business, official positions and administration of justice. Since 2008 thousands of Shia have been killed by Sunni extremists according to Human Rights Watch (HRW

Pakistani caste system is no more hidden notion mate, :big_boss:
In Pakistan, various social groups (called quoms) display a social stratification comparable to the Indian caste system. The various quoms differ widely in power, privilege and wealth. Both ethnic affiliation (e.g. Pathan, Sindhi, Baloch, Punjabi, etc.) and membership of specific biraderis or zaat/quoms are additional integral components of social identity. Within the bounds of endogamy defined by the above parameters, close consanguineous unions are preferred due to a congruence of key features of group- and individual-level background factors as well as affinities. McKim Marriott adds that a social stratification that is hierarchical, closed, endogamous and hereditary is widely prevalent, particularly in western parts of Pakistan. The numerically and socially influential tribes in Pakistani Punjab includes the agricultural tribes of Arain, Awan, Jat Muslim and Gujjar as well as Rajput.

What are dwijas and adwijas ?
What are mleches ?
What are doms ?
What does the word musahars mean?

What are dwijas and adwijas ?
Dvija means twice born (reborn) upper 3 varna i.e. brahman kshatriya and Vaishya are eligible and shudra are ineligible.
Of course the mistake in the question is the word "castes" - these varnas are not castes. They are not even jaatis( caste ). But then none of the definitions matter to the present day context.
(1) knowledge of the Vedas and
(2) good conduct.
A person is called Vipra if he satisfies both conditions.
good conduct they can be called dvija and thus can be given the sacred thread.
I already comprehended you earlier varna is decided by your karm (deeds) not by birth i.e. a shudra can be brahmin by good deeds and brahmin can be shudra by his heinous deeds, and so on.
What are mleches ?
(Sanskrit) mleccha is a slang for barbarian invaders.
What are doms ?
Dom, Bansfor, malik. Doms are a Bengali Hindu caste found in large numbers in Birbhum, Bankura and other districts in the western fringe of the Indian state of West Bengal. Traditionally, Doms were basket-makers, cultivators, labourers and drummers; their wives serving as midwives.
Musahar or Mushahar are a tribal-turned-Dalit community found in the eastern Gangetic plain and the Terai. They are also known as Banbasi. The other names of the Musahar are Bhuiyan and Rajawar while they are known on the plateau as Manjhi.

and you can tell dwijas
and adwijas from the red string naara tied around the wrist. Of course the shudras are ineligible. They can't wear a sacred thread on their wrists because of the way they are born. Not because of what they do.

Interesting. How would he know the Vedas if he is in danger of getting his tongue cut off. After all Eklavya had to give a guru-dakshina of his thumb to Guru Drona so that the knowledge of archery and handling a bow remained with the dwijas .
I already comprehended you earlier varna is decided by your karm (deeds) not by birth i.e. a shudra can be brahmin by good deeds and brahmin can be shudra by his heinous deeds, and so on.
Why couldn't Eklavya be a Brahmin?
Because he didn't know the Vedas or because he didn't have good deeds. And Karan ? Why couldn't he be a Brahmin?
(Sanskrit) mleccha is a slang for barbarian invaders.
Which invader is a mleche ?
Kushans, Greeks, British, Portuguese? Are they barbarians ?
What is the meaning of the words,
musla, landya, katua, sullah,
Are the people described thus mleches also?

Really?😂 If these are the Doms Then what is profession of the Turias ? Are the, Turias the the ones who carry corpses, remove nightsoil from open pit latrines ,attend to the funeral pyres on the cremation grounds?

I asked you what the word means
Hint: Mus , = ? ( a rodent)
Ahaar = ? ( diet )
Get it ?
Yes they have caste names such Bhuiyan, and Manjhi, Paswan.

Looks like you don't have any idea, what caste PM MODI is ???:laughcry:
So what? You've had Muslim presidents also. It only proves that brahminists don't have to be Brahmins.
these varnas are not castes. They are not even jaatis( caste )
Again with this fundamentalism? I think people here know how Indians work now. You keep telling civilised nations that caste means "varna" and has no discriminatory element, except that which the British manipulated ostensibly for their own gains. You keep telling civilised nations that you are constitutionally bound to not discriminate on the basis of caste. However, the constitution has been thrown out of the window by Yogi in UP and other members of his party.

The casteism is so ingrained and intertwined with the hindu religious doctrine, who can do what and what not in which temple and who can eat from which plate, that these people are not offered protection by your constitution in any case.

Now in Britain, we wish to enable similar laws on paper, except the British authorities will actually enforce these laws. That is why hindu academics and organisations are RESISTING these laws in UK.

The question remains - if your claim that "caste" is merely a relic of ancient religious dogma which is not strictly applied (except by nasty redcoats who wished to exploit Indians once upon a time) and that caste isn't practically used as a means of genuine discriminatory policy, then why would a legal statute which codifies precisely this be resisted by any hindu? The British are actually agreeing and claiming that the law would simply protect against caste discrimination...which you say shouldn't happen anyway, so why is there a problem with such a law?

Your now banned associate claimed this law cannot be passed as it discriminates against hindus. (1) Such laws apparently exist in India's constitution - do they target the hindu faith disproportionately? If so, why does India have this in its constitution? (2) non-Hindus can also be prosecuted under such a law, so if - as you assert - some Muslim caste discriminates against another caste (good luck with that btw), then please go ahead, by all means prosecute the perpetrators of such heinous activity - we will support such a prosecution.

There are several pet phrases that Sanghis throw around, as if they are somehow insulting. Muslims are generally bewildered with such insinuations.

The word Kafir is one of them. Sanghis peddle this as evidence of some sort of giant pejorative and derogatory system equivalent to the racist caste system that they practice.

Much of Sanghi propaganda works among the same predictable lines. They don't deny their racist behavior or oppressive caste system. They simply concoct up something seemingly worse among others to deflect attention from their own societal ills.

It's not ours. It's Indian or Hindu to be more precise.

You whities look at trendy Indian tourism ads and are smitten but are not aware of it's harsh realities.

You also have class differentiation, it's called Shia/Sunni/Ahamedi, etc. Then you have a class distinction between Arabs/African/Asian Muslims. Arabs looking down on the latter two as inferior or even considering them as 2nd class Muslims that were converted by force. Religions have a way to classify people into groups to define status

Shia's and Sunnis can and do intermarry. So do every so called Muslim group,
That is not the case in India:
A Ravidas and Bharadwaj Brahmin can't. The groom will be lynched.

The RSS knows that the word "kafir" refers to pre-Islamic pagan Arabs who rejected and opposed Islam. But they play victim as if the word is reserved for Hindus. No Arab refers to the 2 million Hindus living in 6 Arab countries as "kafir" .

Much of Sanghi propaganda works among the same predictable lines. They don't deny their racist behavior or oppressive caste system. They simply concoct up something seemingly worse among others to deflect attention from their own societal ills.

Yes, these things are clearly a Chrislamocommie conspiracy. :enjoy:

Frankly, I look at reality, facts and their background and not at the unnecessarily complicated Indian political system ( five-yearly elections, parties, seats and all ).

President Kovind is a Dalit and was once a leader of the BJP Dalit Morcha. They are "devout" Hindus like you said. Yet that didn't stop him and his wife from being harassed by Brahmin priests of the Jagannath temple in Odisha on their visit in 2018.

You should tell that to the ghost of Dalit student Rohith Vemula who committed suicide because of oppression by Upper Caste university officials in 2016.

And also tell that to his mother and brother who adopted Buddhism in clear rejection of the Brahmin-led Manusmriti-derived caste system.

Lastly, I am not Pakistani.
In Rohit Vemula case there might be harassment for some reasons but he is not dalit. A guy who can't handle dirty politics should keep away from politics..
Below is his suicide note

The value of a man was reduced to his immediate identity and nearest possibility. To a vote. To a number. To a thing. Never was a man treated as a mind. As a glorious thing made up of stardust. In very field, in studies, in streets, in politics, and in dying and living.

I am writing this kind of letter for the first time. My first time of a final letter. Forgive me if I fail to make sense. Maybe I was wrong, all the while, in understanding world. In understanding love, pain, life, death. There was no urgency. But I always was rushing. Desperate to start a life. All the while, some people, for them, life itself is curse. My birth is my fatal accident. I can never recover from my childhood loneliness. The unappreciated child from my past. I am not hurt at this moment. I am not sad. I am just empty. Unconcerned about myself. That's pathetic. And that's why I am doing this.
People may dub me as a coward. And selfish, or stupid once I am gone. I am not bothered about what I am called. I don't believe in after-death stories, ghosts, or spirits. If there is anything at all I believe, I believe that I can travel to the stars. And know about the other worlds.

I forgot to write the formalities. No one is responsible for my this act of killing myself. No one has instigated me, whether by their acts or by their words to this act. This is my decision and I am the only one responsible for this."

Can you show caste angle in his note.
Lot of ups and downs would be there and suicide is not answer for problems.

That's racism dude. Fights in sects are mostly. The ones that are violent are opposed by states especially Pakistan. We don't think just because someone was born Dalit is below even a human being, will remain a Dalit and die a Dalit. That's kinda like old European Feudalism.
Atleast we don't call them kaafir ,(kafur kafur shia kafur)
They all are hindu caste , except some sikh and muslim caste.

You are welcome. :big_boss: 8-) :dirol::thank_you2:

Dude that is subtle racism and mostly verbal. We don't lynch or rape shias or someone who is a virk or jatt or bhatti. We don't just reduce them to menial workers and discriminate against them in work places.

Biggest convert to Islam demographic are Dalits and Shudars in India, to escape persecution by PEOPLE OF THEIR OWN RELIGION. That's quite telling in my view.

The caste system in India is rather odd, a lot of the tribes that are seen as prestigious/normal within the Punjab are often seen as rather lowly out there. Never did I think I'd see Kamboj listed under "backwards caste" but apparently that's the case in Haryana.
