It's not a flat batting surface. It's a spin friendly track, we should get out of the mentality that anything that doesn't offer pace/bounce/swing is a flat pitch just because Eng/Aus say so.

Exactly. Every team tries to maximize the home advantage. When India tour Eng/Aus they always keep that extra bit of grass on the pitch. Similarly our strength is spin and we should play to our strengths, they should learn how to play spin.

Yes it was a mistake to leave out Monty, he's a good bowler and would have been useful on this pitch. The pitch is only going to get worse and it would be an achievement if England can stretch this to the fifth day.
