At least we're not a beg like some people. And India definitely has independent foreign policy, We have good relations with Iran, China and Russia (America has frosty relations with them). So we don't care what America thinks/does. We have had good relations with Burma even before US and EU lifted the sanctions.




In fact Pakistan has always been a proxy/mercenary. First for America (1991 but now are paying for it) and now for China. Pakistan has the least independent foreign policy. Even Bhutan/Maldives (India's protectorate states) have more independent and more dimensional foreign policy.

would be interesting to do a case study on india 1+ billion (with a segment of population numbering 4 times that of Pakistan which is in dire poverty)

especially given that india is a larger recipient of humanitarian and other assistance than Pakistan EVER was!
