Mirages are not in production anymore and 2nd are not available soon, FGFA will come only by the end of the decade, which leaves IAF with LCA MK1 and MKIs as the only new inductions, while Mig 21, 23 and most 27s are, or will be phased out in the same time.
On the other side, at least as important as replacing older fighters with MMRCAs, is to improve our industry through ToT and offsets that. That's why MMRCA is so important for us too and that is not possible with the procurement of 2nd hand fighters, or waiting for FGFA ToT that we get anyway.
