You ever think they were also very weak in the 80's? According to classified sources that I have, there was a PLA plan to provoke a border skirmish in the early 2000's in which we would have been sitting ducks. Why the f-k do you think we magically opened arms with the West and proceeded to push for greater strategic friendship with them?
