India’s vanishing Parsis

. .
Yes, but Malik is ultimately derived from Arabic. So that is probably how it got to the Indian subcontinent, while Shah is a indigenous Persian word.

r u parsi???it seems u r !!!

btw after the advent of islam in subcontinent ,the fiest invader who came in sub-continent was arabs hence there language was arabic, the later conqueror spoke turkish and persian ,as influened by and modified by arabic ...though arabic remained the language of religion, persian became the language of the court during muslim rule..persian was therefore, seriously studied by all those hindus hindus and muslims who sought administration positions, but it could not become the language of the masses .....hence arabic ,turkish and persian had to intermix with the local languages and give bith the new language which is urdu .......present day it is the languge of urdu speaker who live in the pakistan and muslims of bihar,up.

thanx:)

these are the alphabets of the urdu which are similar to arabic and persian ,turkish.........our national anthem also in persian .and we undrstand it easily

I am Iranian.

Shah is obtained from the word Sahukar(merchant community). Malik is Jaat clan, its coincidence it is similar to Arabic.
Some Persian name looks similar to Hindi, like you have a city called Nishapur, in Hindi Nisha means night, pur means city.

Yeah, also you have some cities which finish in Abad. Like Hyderabad. In Persian that would mean built/made by Hyder. Other similar words I've noticed are cheragh/chirag, delbar, yaar and bichare amongst others.

Yeah, Urdu is pretty much a mixture of Hindi, with Middle Eastern influence as you said. I know that traditional Urdu is quite different to that spoken by normal people. The day to day spoken Urdu is more similar to Hindi and that is why you can understand each other more easily.

These are indeed Persian words used in India. Hyderabad, Ahmedabad, Allahabad etc. etc.
We also use native one pur, Nagar(city), garh(fort) etc.

atually muslims and hindus societies had different culture aspects ,the muslims (as usual:lol:) claim that their culture is different because its an islamic culture ...muslims of india ,by general constent consider urdu as their own ,the hindus have their own labguage ,hindi ,which leans heavily from sanskrit for its vocalburay ,urdu on the other is more from persian and arabic ,some of the pharase are from hindi ,in india the hindus looked their own ancient philosophy just as the muslims trace their intellectual ancestory to muslims thinkers like avicenna and al-ghazli...........and yes tradition urdu is quite diiferent ,not only urdu but hindi aswell because of vast communication system ,media, newspaper internet ...fast trade one country to another and people travel one country to another .......i think if we will not preserve our language ...our language will becomethe mixture of english, urdu, hindi etc after thousand years

I never understood why Pakistanis are so allergic to Sanskrit when all Indo-Aryan languages originated from Sanskrit.

.
arabic +turkish +persian = urdu .....malik is the urdu word......

Malik is an Arabic and Northwest Semitic (eg Neo Aramaic) word meaning "king, chieftain" or angel. it is very similar to the Arabic name/ word malek مالِك

source wiki

Like many prestigious titles, Malik or Malek is a common element in first and family names. For example, Awan Malik is a large community in Pakistan with Arab heritage. Malik is used both as title and surname in Pakistan.

just for info we are not descents of Hindus or Pakhtoons or Persians we simply invaded Subcontinent n settled dere:toast_sign:

Urdu is born from Persian and Hindi, Persian was parsi language, Hindi was Indian. So how come Muslims came into picture???

Arabic/Turkik was spoken much before Islam was founded, Arabic was language of Pagan/Hindu living in Arabia (who later converted to Islam), Turkik was language of Turk Nomads (Much before Islam was born).

So if some one is saying "Urdu is Muslism/Islamic" language he is wrong. Urdu was born in India (In UP) So urdu is Indian Language.

If Muslims start speaking Hindi , will hindi become Muslism's language????

The truth is , except Koran , nothing is Islamic. All practices done in Islam is borrowed/taken form existing religions.
