By the strict letter of the law, there may be some doubt about her immunity but as the U.S. is finding out, reciprocity is such a pain. No more privileged treatment, they now get exactly what they allow for Indian diplomats, nothing more. All additional privileges are being withdrawn. Unlikely to be restored no matter what happens in the Indian diplomat's case.

So there is only two ways left. Either both sides mellows down... or keeps upping the ante, in which case it's not going good for either. For India to come down now from where they have taken this to, will take some effort from US!

So Indian government punish the victim and protect a criminal just because a criminal is a diplomat or high caste in Indian society?

LOL. Khibragade happens to be one of the lowest castes, and is actually a scheduled caste in India. Nobody has ever made it into a casteist thing. You might want to shut up about things you dont know, and not expose your ignorance to everyone.

India still depend on the US not the other way around, wake up don't play with fire or you will get burn.

Isko bolte hain, Jhaant bhar ki knowledge nahin, aa gaye pandit gyaan baatne. Before even calling her upper caste, he dint care to find what caste was she. Does India anymore discriminates constitutionally on basis of Caste?

Typical Brainwashed brainless intelluects. :D

Criminal should be treat as such a criminal. No more or no less, less the court decide if she innocent or guilty as charge.

Since more than a hundred years, when untouchability was banned by law. And more so since 1947, when all men and women irrespective of caste or religion are equal in the eyes of the state. You are a hundred years behind, the reality in India is not what you have been taught.

No question of apology, want Indian diplomat released and allowed to leave US, won't accept anything short of this: PMO sources

Its started 65 years back when an untouchable was allowed to write the Constitution of India. Wake up kid. you have been sleeping for more than 65 years. Captian America? eh...:undecided:

Consular staff have limited immunity if you go strictly by the book. Interpretation is the key .

Interpretation only to a small extend. The key is many many hundreds of years of international consular relations and practices that is followed the world over. Diplomatic immunity is a sacred treaty practiced both in the letter of the law and IN SPRITE.

It is that sprite that has been violated by this unfriendly action.
