When did. ARIHANT become operational?

It’s not operational. I don’t think it will ever be at it’s a technology demonstrator. This next one is more of a prototype. So it’s not likely to be operational as well.

LOL. This is more like the George Washington class build in 1957. And that is being generous. India is the first country in the world to build a SSBN before a SSN. So India has zero nuclear sub construction experience prior to build this sub.

INS Arighat has 8 launch tubes which carry 24 K-15 SLBMs or 8 K-4 SLBMs.
Where as Ohio class carries 24 Trident SLBMs.

Arihant is the first nuclear sub built by India and Arighat is the second. Offcourse dont compare them to fisrt Chinese nuclear subs (Han class), which were some of the noisiest subs ever put to sea.

Arihant was developed from experience gained from operating Russian nuclear subs and has used same an-echoic tiles as used by Russian in Akula class submarines.

Ohh it is definitely quiet, there was no pomp and ceremony associated with its launch. Infact there is a lot of secrecy associated with entire ATV programme.

First Arihant class SSBNs has been inducted and been operational for more than a year and yet there a no pictures of it. So much so, many Pakistanis and Chinese believe, it not operational at all.

Of course, it's the first and 'assisted' by the Russians.

Much better to ask for assistance, than steal the technology, claim it as your own and then come with piss poor submarines such as Han.

At least copying requires you to dissect the technology, you are basically getting spoon fed like a baby and even then you can fck up the reactor. What makes you think the reactor is not noisy?
