They produce a lot of rubbish along with the dance sequences. Some movies I did like, such as, the Sunjay Dutt ones, but the only reason I even bothered to watch them was because I saw a bit of the movie while visiting a friend who was watching them.
But I really have no time to sit through dozens of movies in the hope of finding one that is worthwhile. The reputation of Bollywood is one of frivolity, and while that may appeal to some, in fact many, it doesn't appeal to me.
On the flip side, some really bad TV drama's were produced in Pakistan as well, but the reputation was one of good performances, and addressing serious issues, so I would still watch new ones. Its just the general theme of different industries, and the kind of product the generally churn out.
