there are a lot of organisations such as ashrams that provide free food to the poor. They also provide living quarters. There is a cafeteria which serves food to anyone free of cost and also they have basic facilities.

its very good yaar we have also same here in karachi there is a old women she made a restaurant for poor pay 3 rupees and eat which dish they have they cook motton chiken daal sabzi everything these guys whom trolling they may never face what hunger is and what hunger can be done to a human .i am with program

In Chattishgarh state govt has opened Dal Bhaat kendra in every district, Near Bus stand or court. Where any one can eat as much he can in Just 5 Rs. These Kendra are runned by NGO, They get grains for highly subsidized amount.

its most probably FCI (food corporation of india).. its a govt enterprise..
they are forced by farmer's lobby in punjab and haryana to buy more and more wheat, and let it rot because they dont have storage facility and farmers have record harvest now a days.

One of the good things that FDI in retail might bring, is storage facility of private companies.

thats only in karnataka.. they are giving it probably in addition to central govt scheme which is 35 kg or rice or wheat for 3 rs / 2 rs per kg (per family per month)
