India gives massive 4.5 US billion dollar line of credit to BD

Modi doesn't agree with the way you think.

He does.

Modi was despised by the west. He was even denied visa. When he first came into office he wanted to advance the brics agenda. He wanted to be among brics.

But China showed him no respect. When Xi Jinping came to India, Chinese troops came quite deep into lac on Indian side.

China has shown no deference at ALL to any Indian interest. You say that US should stop creating trouble for China in its backyard. Yet, you do the same in Indian backyard.

You rightly think and want a status of primacy in East Asia. India wants the same in South Asia. Why can't we cooperate?

In fact, I can list a simple solution to India-China relations:

  1. Solve the border dispute by demarcating border along the LAC.
  2. Divide regions of influence. India defers to Chinese interests in SE Asia and East Asia; while China does the same for South Asia.
  3. Each country immediately stops giving any support to other country's dissident, or enemy.
  4. Both countries help each other in their spheres.
  5. China's primary interest in South Asia is to maintain its Sea Lines of Communications. India pledges China that it will come to its aid in any times of need.
  6. Once enough trust is built, to declare the BRICS, as a political, military, and economic alliance.

not gonna be possible after 1962. Nehru ruined it all.

At its best, China and India is frenemy and potential rivalry.

The only time tested friend worth of trusted is Pakistan. And BD is our sincere friend since its foundation.

So blame Nehru.

Nehru is HATED by a huge section of Indian population. Nehru can become a good scapegoat for the relationship to blame all the past ills on, and move forward.

I think it can be done.

Deep into LAC on the Indian side as determined by the Indian media?. Even your army has said that the border is not properly demarcated. I would say your Indian media is largely responsible for the present animosity. Your energies will be better spent persuading your Indian media to stop this hate baiting.

the perks of being wedged in a geopolitical rivalry

Hopefully.
Something so positive like the rescue of the hijacked cargo ship off Somalia

It became "China Ignores India's role in rescuing Hijacked Ship from Pirates" and turned it highly contentious within a day.

India media is hell bent to make Indians hate China.

You are right. Ordinary Indians working here in Singapore are friendly. Reading those vitriolic post by some Indian posters, you wouldn't know they are from the same country. But then the Indians here are mainly from southern India. Indians denote a very large group of diverse people so its difficult to generalize. Sometimes inevitably we target the wrong group. After being wrongly bombarded, all hell let loose.

Do you have opposition party now?

There is "A" opposition party in the parliament (the Jatiyo party), however they lack popular support, the "real" opposition party (the BNP) chose to boycott the last election and therefore have 0 seats in the parliament right now.
