Now, you are hypocrite.
In Bangladesh's case, no matter which govt is in power they will have a friendly relation with China. On the other hand, when it comes to India, the present govt is friendly however the main opposition is not. So India tries to back the present regime. You can see.geographical location gives India a bigger chance than China to meddle in our affairs. So any help from China is always a good thing. But any help from India needs to be seen in a more sceptic manner. Why not ?? We are the villain as far as Bangladesh or any other neighbor is concerned, even a help will be portrayed as such. Then why shouldn't we be hypocrite's ?? Remember there is no free meal anywhere in the world. The credit line that China offer other nations also come with some pre-conditions, correct me if I'm wrong.
"India gives massive 4.5 US billion dollar line of credit to BD"
This is premium quality HOG WASH india is selling and marketed by awami indian dalal class. These are just indian export scheme of shoddy indian product and service. Worst part is, ordinary "Bangladeshis" in ? ; now not only forced to buy shoddy indian product but also have to pay interest for buying shoddy indian goods and services. This is bigger scam than pyramid scheme.
No - most of the money will go to infrastructure projects where India will get little benefit from their construction.
Please see this for what it is, and that is a desperate India trying to stay relevant in light of China's much larger economic and military power.
Bangladesh should reject this paltry offer from India and throw it back in their face! How dare India come to BD with ONLY 5 Billion in credit! This is India showing its aggressive designs on BD! This is not how neighbors behave.
BD should teach India a lesson and call for open hostility with India and invite China to set up a base in BD.
The 4.5 US billion for infrastructure projects is welcome, but BD has little need for 500 million US dollars as
India does not produce any military goods that BD would want. There is the possibility that India would allow
BD to buy Russian SU-30SMs with this money but we need to wait and see.
Aren't there more qualified people in BD's security apparatus who are better suited to make a call?
Besides, BD's requirements are quite diverse. Are you telling me that there is NO military goods India makes that would qualify? No naval equipment, sonars, cruise missiles, frigates, subs..nothing?!
You forget that India is seen as the only threat to BD security.
Why would BD buy something from India when the system would be immediately compromised?
Like I say, If BD is allowed to buy Russian arms then BD will take the US 500 million dollars
This is news to us! Why is your govt. signing a defence partnership with an enemy country then? How has India threatened the territorial integrity of BD? Didn't we just settle a lot of the border issues on enclaves?
Also, I suppose you forgot Myanmar who seem to have no problems with BD at all!
And your stance is a bit unclear. So you can take the military assistance from India in the form of money, but not arms? Don't think any country in the world would take the money from an enemy country and still call it a threat!
And even if what you say is true, shouldn't this be considered an olive branch than a noose?
Myanmar is too tiny to pose any realistic threat to BD. BD has 3 times GDP of Myanmar and once BD's military modernisation is complete by 2030, Myanmar military will be pulverised if it tries to take on BD.
It does not matter if the current government is friendly to India as BD military is always
planning for India. It would be unwise for it not to.
Look India is not giving BD money out of the goodness of it's heart. It is trying to compete with 24 billion
dollars of infrastructure loans that China announced last year. Also, recently there have been very credible rumours that BD will be given a steep discount by China to procure 50 J-10Bs.
BD wants cordial relations with India but at the same time it is building a military that will eventually be as powerful as all Indian forces based in the NE theatre.
The north side China can take it back anytimeWell then in the same breath, isn't India too massive for BD as BD is compared to Myanmar?
I mean India is 10 times the GDP of BD. So why even bother when we can do the same (pulverize) as what you can do to Myanmar with a bigger army and economy as well as geographical advantage of surrounding you on all three sides?
I mean wouldn't the smart thing be to engage in deeper relations with India and the Indian military? Especially when offered an olive branch?
I still don't understand how India has threatened BD's sovereignty though to begin with? Can you touch on this?
With respect to Hasina's friendly overtures with India, based on the above, isn't that a pragmatic move? And doesn't Hasina represent the voice of the country as its elected leader?
And do you think China is doing anything out of the goodness of its heart? Isnt it also trying to compete for influence in India's backyard, while trying to encircle India? So why is India the big bad wolf here?
This logic escapes me.
