Now all that being said, while I have respect for Dr Sen, I wouldn't say that he is a "genius". He certainly deserved his nobel prize and his ideas were valid for another time, but he is way too left leaning/socialist and not in touch with times. Leftists and communists have kept India poor for decades and I am personally glad we are over that. Another thing about this guy is that you will always see him sullen and dull, he is always in a bad mood and i haven't seen him make a single positive post about India - ever. If all one talks is negative, doom and gloom predictions and doesn't applaud the govt over the things they have done right(infrastructure, FDI, trying to increase manufacturing in India) etc, then they lose credibility, but again, that's no excuse to dismiss everything he says.
