Newly built Coaches of Indian Railways designed under Make In India Scheme of PM Narendra Modi.

Various features of the the modern coaches include

1. They are spacious, have bigger side berths and are equipped with jerk-less seats.
2. Chains for middle berths have been replaced with side support and railings.
3. Floor of the coach has been painted like a carpet.
4. Bio toilet systems have been installed in all coaches.
5. Every compartment has separate mobile and laptop charging points and the seats have LED reading lights.
6. There will be fire extinguishers on both sides of a coach.

As per reports, out of 100 plus coaches to be built initially, 87 would be non AC, 17 would be for AC 3 tier, 5 would be AC 2 tier and one each AC 1st Class and AC Chair car. While AC coaches would be built at the cost of Rs 70 lakh, sleeper coaches would cost Rs 49 lakhs.
