I just hope mumbai metro comes to its senses and chooses a better higher quality, indian sourced rolling stock for at least the expansion phases....there are significant local producers (bombardier, alstom, rotem in partnership with indian companies) making them. No need to import cheap quality stuff.

R8, I noticed too; optimal and efficient, yet off-the-shelf structural engg.

S. Indian metro projects reflect similar trends; and generally speaking civil works have actualised much environmental mgmt. techniques Vs. a generation ago when they would just rip-&-roar the entire project affected area. Same in Pak., I noticed.

All good stuff, environmental issues are frothing to the top thanks to media etc. No ?
