Modi's win, a foregone conclusion, means a modified India.

Modification implies digging. Modi will run river linking and riverbank redevelopment a la Sabarmati in Amdavad (fab. project to line up all the builder-contractor-labourer vote bank in each city), BJP Prez. Gadkari will run with his reputation as the 'flyover King of Mumbai' and cover India with flyover's, wonder who will be given canal-top and other 'land grab' solar power and high speed rail projects.

What d'yall say Modi will line up with China. during the days of lefty socialism when the Patels ran Gujarat; no-name mega factories would pop-up to serve the in-house commie bloc markets in Gujarat. Gujarat was bulk supplier of FCMG and textiles to the bloc. The kids of those factory-wallahs are screaming at a chance to go Global, many have, all they need is for Modi to line up with China and transfer over the factories by doing sub-k work for Chinese Co.'s. Wages in China are going through the roof. And there's the Japs. with their Delhi-Mumbai corridor. BJP is also amplifying the # of corridors. With water comes electricity. All good.

SVLL Connect Pvt. Ltd., a group company of Surat-basedSiddhi Vinayak Logistic Ltd. (SVLL), launched the intercity seven-star luxury passenger buses between Mumbai and Surat in association with Scania Commercial Vehicle India Pvt Ltd in Mumbai on Tuesday, a statement issued by the SVLL said.

An online portal, bookmyconnect.com, has also been started to facilitate online ticket booking of SVLL luxury buses, the statement added.

The luxury buses, which will run on Mumbai-Surat-Mumbai route, are designed to provide flight-like services to the tourists. The buses house restrooms, pantries, and facilities like personal LCD screen with USB compatibility and Sennheiser headphones in addition to mobile/laptop charging points and Wi-Fi connection.

The portal offers online real time booking and seat selection. Tickets can also be booked through a mobile application, WAP or through a call centre.

Apart from launching intercity seven-star luxury passenger buses between Mumbai and Surat, SVLL Connect is also commencing luxurious intercity cab services for corporate hiring. The cabs, which are being started in Surat, Mumbai, Pune, Vadodara, Ahmedabad, Jaipur and Delhi-National Capital Region (NCR), can be chosen from three stylish options of Innova, Ertiga and Etios. The recliner seater 'seven-star' luxury passenger, has been designed by Dilip Chhabria of automotive design firm DC Design .

The luxury passenger bus service was flagged off by Deepak Baid, director, SVLL Connect Pvt. Ltd.

R C Baid, chairman and chief mentor, SVLL Connect Pvt.Ltd., said, "Our alliance with Scania marks a key milestone in allowing us to cross the threshold into a new segment of transportation in India. With Scania's manufacturing expertise, Dilip Chhabria of automotive design and SVLL's network reach in the country, our combined capabilities will enhance our ability to offer world-class facilities to our customers."

Deepak Baid said "The Indian luxury transport is improving with new technology adoptions and growing requirements for comfort travelling. SVLL Connect has launched the buses first in the western market and after a year or so, we plan to move to other parts of the country."

Hyderabad's First Metro Train Begins Journey from Korea

The first metro train rolled out from Korea and will arrive in Hyderabad during May this year.

People will get to see the trains plying from Nagole to Mettuguda on the viaduct when the trial run for commercial operations commence in June. The shipment of the first train (three cars) from M/s Hyundai-Rotem Factory-Changwon, Korea will reach HMR Uppal Depot in Hyderabad by the third week of next month.

In a glittering ceremony held at Hyundai-Rotem Factory, Korea, the first metro train was unveiled in the presence of LTMRHL, Chairman, Y M Deosthalee and LTMRHL Managing Director, VB Gadgil.

The train was run on test track at the Hyundai Rotem Factory. Representatives from Hyundai Rotem, Mitsubishi Electric Corporation (MELCO), Japan, Knorr-Bremse, Germany, Hankuk Fibre, Korea travelled in the train during the roll out ceremony at the Changwon factory.

“It is indeed a historic moment and we are proud to see the train coming to Hyderabad ahead of the scheduled date, which is a benchmark and a trendsetter,” Deosthalee stated.

Calling the Hyderabad Metro Rail (HMR) a world class project, Gadgil commented, “In this endeavour, all our partners are delivering their best in terms of quality and workmanship. I am proud to say that L&T is steadfast in abiding by the timelines. The people of Hyderabad will have a glimpse of their dream train on tracks in June 2014,” he added.

Like Bajpayee properly named the LCA Tejas, I hope the incoming Modi govt., names NOIDA , Gr. NOIDA, NOIDA Ext.

Re: Hyderabad metro, L&T could also have gone for Indian assembled Bombardier, Alsthom or cheaper, locally made BEML metro.

I know a thing or two about Korean business, vendor financing is the norm with the Koreans.
Why else would L&T go with imported Rotems ;). Indians should feel something about importing metro's which are just bogies with electric generators considering it's India that was the original home of Asia's railways. And all of it's rail industry. Cutting chai, heroin, cotton-textiles and steel based armaments, shipbuilding, rail, steel machinery were the main colonial industries. Never mind cutting chai.

With 94% of the land for the projects acquired, and all major statutory clearances in place, DFC is on the fast-track, backed by institutional finance from the World Bank (eastern corridor) and Japan International Cooperation Agency (western corridor).

Civil contracts for 1,100 km were given out in 2013. rediff.com

DMRC test ‘Tata Marcopolo’ Starbus Ultra CNG bus for its Feeder Service

New Delhi नई दिल्ली: Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) is all set to expand its fleet of feeder buses and it looks like Tata Marcopolo has sealed the deal.

DMRC is currently maintaining a sizable fleet of minibuses to be used as last mile transport solution for the people who commute by Delhi Metro rails. The feeder service plies on number of STA approved routes, each one not exceeding 10 km.

DMRC has earlier announced that it will induct 400 more buses across 80 routes by the end of 2013 but the project has been delayed. However, the testing of the mini buses has commenced. What you see here is a Tata Marcopolo Starbus Ultra 25 seater minibus which is built according to the DMRC requirements.

According to DMRC’s announcement the new fleet will consist of 300 low-floor (650 mm) 25 seater buses and 100 regular (900 mm)25 seater buses. Seen here is the test mule of a low floor bus based on Tata Marcopolo’s Ultra platform.

Tata Marcopolo’s product portfolio neither has a Starbus Ultra in 25 seat configuration nor a CNG version but it seems the company has made an exception for DMRC because of the number of orders. Going by the seating capacity of the DMRC bus, we suspect that Tata could use the same powerplant which powers the Starbus CNG range.

The engine in question is a 3.8-litre direct gas injection watercooled CNG unit which produces an adequate 85 PS of power and 270 Nm of torque. The engine is likely to be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission.

According to our sources, the vehicle specially built for DMRC comes with plastic moulded seats and a wide door in the middle. The vehicle can seat 25 passengers apart from 2 staff and can accommodate around 10 standing passengers. The non-AC CNG bus is cooled by fans and it’s also fitted with first-aid box and fire extinguisher.

Given that DMRC has commenced pilot-testing the buses, we can expect the entire fleet of 400 vehicles to be delivered in a few months time.

Those Tata minibuses are ok.
CNG-hybrid was the way to go. They do stop-go-stop-go neighbourhood, last mile runs to the metro.
