India, China firm up plan for joint military exercises

Yes, I know you and several other Pakistanis hate the Chinese Government with a passion.

Anyway, Deng Xiaoping took a huge risk, by massively cutting our defence budget in order to provide extra stimulus to our economy for economic reforms. He then balanced the USA/USSR (who were both our enemies at that point) to avoid a military confrontation with either one, which had partial success.

The Economic success though, was undeniable. And today, the top Chinese leaders still follow in the footsteps of Deng Xiaoping and his focus on economy. Which is why we have not had a war for over 30 years, our economy is more important, especially at this stage.

Oh yup yup, we should disarm and appease everyone. Heck why not let an American be the Chinese president. Lets go further and have a relationship with America similar to what Japan and South Korea has. We will be rich alright, f****y rich, but we will be an American colony with no independent foreign policy.

Since Mao died, our military have taken a secondary priority. Now we are scared to do anything that hurts America's feelings. Our military spending is about 1% of GDP, only 7% of our central government expenditure. Since Mao died we have been embarrassed by everyone. Even Vietnam kicked our butt in 1979 because of liberals.

10% of GDP should go to military. Unfortunately liberals probably think 1% is too much.

Good. Better to have a peaceful border.

@RIMPAC Don't you think 10 percent is too much..... It would take a lot of cash away from other areas.

India and China united would spell havoc to the west...and there are many force which do not like the cooperation. Well as an Indian I can say that the only reason of dislike is its extensive military help to Pakistan. But it is also true that, by helping Pakistan, China is playing with a poisonous snake. They have been exporting terrorists all over the world...and they might start the same in Xinjiang province.

We don't care about the terrorists, that may be your problem, the things that our territories coccupied by you is what we should keep in mind every moment.

Which territory are you speaking about. Did India occupy some Chinese territory...I have never read anywhere...about it. And how did India manage to do it?? Could you please explain on it. And terrorists in Xinjiang is definitely not our problem....well it would be Pakistan's problem because it would need to explain to the rest of the Muslim countries why it remained silent about the Ughyur tribes.
