India Begs US Not To Leave Afghanistan

Nobody would dare tell Pakistan how many consulates it might permit the Chinese government inside its borders and all understand that Pakistan upholds this principle also for its friendly Afghan neighbors. Thus, India will remain in Afghanistan so long as the Afghan government and people desire such.
Nobody retains the ability to bomb Pakistani consulates in China at will either. Pakistan can bomb Indian consulates to smithereens. If its proven beyond doubt that it supports terrorism in Pakistan and is responsible for the thousands of deaths in Pakistan, the government has the Pakistani public's mandate to blow them up.

Pakistan's protection trumps Afghanistan's government and its commitments to terrorists.

You got no idea what would be the political and diplomatic fallout of bombing an embassy. An embassy is a sovereign area which if bombed will put doubts in mind of every single diplomat present in Pakistan irrespective of nationality about their own safety.

Be assured their would be so much sanctions and not only from enemies but allied countries also. So lets not talk about bombing embassy inside a country so easily.

Indians came into Afghanistan after the US occupation, and they will exit before or soon after the US withdrawal there.

The best course of action now open for the US is to use the 18 month transition period to reach a direct accommodation with the Afghan Taliban that guarantees that they will not permit any one to launch terrorist attacks against any nation from the Afghan soil. The US military withdrawal from the region should begin immediately after such a peace deal with the Taliban backed by regional guarantors, including Pakistan and China. Beyond Afghanistan, the global terrorist threat from al Qaeda needs to be met with a coordinated international effort that relies on carrots and sticks to give the insurgents a stake in maintaining world peace.

Well 18 months is enough time for India to inflict maximum cuts on pakistan. You know there will be always surge before withdrawal. Pakistan will broke by that time and begging for US help.

It's truly amazing to hear these views from Indians, in this and another thread I participated in earlier today. Do you actually believe this or is this just cheap internet forum bravado? Because if you do, why don't you come back here in 18 months and see how your prediction did.

Afghanistan is going Pakistan's way. No question about it.

As for "cuts on Pakistan", again, time will tell. Pakistan has been reserved over the last 3-4 years, but if things continue to go the direction they seem to be going, those gloves are about to come off.

a very narrow view point ..... and more on rhetoric

may I know how the above task is planned to be achieved?

Both sides I guess??

I was just thinking about strong views of Pakistani members on this forum about India's involvement in Balochistan and NWFP. Now if that is true, it means that most of the NATO is also in the know of India's involvement and does not care about it??

In which case are we going to see a more active response from India in the years ahead to Pakistan's proxy war in Kashmir..?? I mean fight proxy war with proxy war and turn it into a low intensity war within Pakistan like it has been in India for last couple of decades...

I mean Afghanistan or no Afghanistan, there can be other alternates if India wants/tries to create insurgency in the restive areas of Pakistan...

Blah blah blah crap again.

As far as pakistan is concerned India is behind these attacks in India, directly or indirectly.

The US is talking about withdrawal in 2011, You are thinking the US will keep a force in Afghanistan, then you Sir,.....have no knowledge of how Afghans work, they will not stop fighting untill ALL foreigners are out. Hence the fighting will not end until they are out.

Nonetheless, an attack on Pakistan's West border will be minimised. And Pakistan has many many cards it can then use against the Afghan government to bring them in line also, economic being one of them where Pakistan can freeze its supplies into Afghanistan as it is a landlocked country.

On the if, IF the ISI decide to pay back India in full for the "cut" we have suffered, do you realistically think India can take that many "cuts". Indian economy would suffer hugely and India will have two options, War or Talks to (a) save its economy (which may I add China will be all too happy to undermine also and exploit) (b) go for War which nonetheless will destroy its economy anyway.

Lets wait and see............this thread is more like Asim Aquil's thread of a showdown in Afghanistan in 2011

Then by that extension, Afghan government has the right to goto war against Pakistan.

That also includes the forces present in Afghanistan-ISAF.

Actually the land now know as india has a history going back many 1000s of years. It is apparent that India has not learned from Pakistan's mistakes. Say India goes for hard power in Afganistan as a result of promised American or western support. This is a similiar situation to the East Pakistan war when Pakistan thought or was lead to believe of American Intervention on its behalf in the war. America backed out. The same thing will happen to India in Afganistan as soon you start losing your people the Americans and Europeans will look the other way. Russia may support you just enough to maintain a stalement but your economy will be the biggest loser. The West promised aid and treasure to Pakistan to fight the taliban (TTP) in Pakistan but the Pakistani forces have committed to the fight but the propmises have not been even been half fulfilled.

In the long run it is better to negotiate with Pakistan sort out all outstanding issues. Once true peace and trust is established the Pakistanis will accept Indian interaction with open arms and allow India access to Afganistan and central Asian markets.

Then an Era of peace and stability will bring prosperity to the people of South Asia.

There is no way India will go for a hard option in Afg..It simply is not in India's interest.

Agree 100% with the rest of your post

Seems you are fairly fond of crap (or at least writing the word crap). Please have the patience to read the post before replying. No where am I talking about NATO / US maintaining a force in Afg.. My post was also a question (which you would have realized had you not jumped to write blah and crap) around the changing approach of India's counter strategy to pakistan's proxy war (even post Afg)

Really? And how many fellow posters from Pakistan have stressed about availability of proof of Indian complicity in FATA- Waziristan mess ..... and even GoP has been climing irrefutable proof (Indian Ordnance & clothing) .....

so what happened to the mandate and 'blowing to smithreens'?
