Just check the ratings of all comedians on prime time. his is still the highest one.

In addition, the rate for TV ads charge during his program is also the highest among his peers as well.

Over his long time career, he beats his rival letterman almost all the time.

So stop whining. Those silks need learn to relax. It is just a joke.

If they think that reference is offensive, should all christians ban the movie "A.Very.Harold.And.Kumar.Christmas" since the reference to Jesus Christ would have been way too offensive in any other religions standard?

Welcome to this forum Mr. Indian Taliban. There is nothing about sikh religon here. Most people in US would not not even know thats the Golden Temple. Most would think its some kind of spa. Its like me putting a photo of Vatican on my facebook as my summer residence. India becoming a super power no way. A taliban power its well on its way.

the US State Depts spokesperson has issued a statement defending free speech and defending Mr. Leno (for whom I personally hold high regards)

i'm surprised to see these people get enraged now, but then they remain deaf dumb and mute when ''freedom of speech'' debate is used to inflame anger against other religious groups

When westerners use Mecca as a reference for anything elite we don't go bonkers. I saw the video and most people around the world would have no idea where or what the Golden Temple is.

And again you have these foreigners coming to India and tripping over each other appreciating our culture and diversity, there are 2 faces to the coin, more westerners appreciate and admire us than ridicule what they have no idea of.

Sure I do agree that Leno did not realize the religious importance of the golden temple(he probably did not know what it is, after all.. it isnt always him vetting the jokes).
But the red flag video.. Top gear.. and this all testify to an insecure populous that still has not learnt to take a joke and to vociferously object where it is really needed.. such as attacks on India's secular nature by internal activists.
