As usual.. sensationalism wins again..
Sure I do agree that Leno did not realize the religious importance of the golden temple(he probably did not know what it is, after all.. it isnt always him vetting the jokes).
But the red flag video.. Top gear.. and this all testify to an insecure populous that still has not learnt to take a joke and to vociferously object where it is really needed.. such as attacks on India's secular nature by internal activists.

Do you think we are not aware of it, some things sort out in time, some need a little nudge, but you need to make the right noises when it matters, we Indians do it by way of diplomacy and by words. We cannot or will not take up arms or blow up a couple of thousand people in protest. Also cutting the cr@p in the bud helps in the long run or you will have any tom dick or harry ridiculing our great culture.

Disagree. The joke the Mr Leno said was not demeaning to the Sikhs but the Presidential hopeful Mr Romney. If only people had a sense of humor. OTOH, I dont see Sikhs raising a hue and cry about this affair (except maybe a few disgruntled voices) which shows that as a community they have a sense of humor!
Mr Leno, an accomplished comedian that he is, surely knows the importance of the Golden Temple and its opulence which is why he used that joke to get at Romney.

Agree. Pity that a population with thousands of years worth of history, culture and openness have started to embrace this neo-conservatism and intolerance. IMHO, fake and neo-nationalism (basically the new-money syndrome) is to be blamed. Or maybe a few idiots get a lot of media airtime.

Welcome to this forum Mr. Indian Taliban. There is nothing about sikh religon here. Most people in US would not not even know thats the Golden Temple. Most would think its some kind of spa. Its like me putting a photo of Vatican on my facebook as my summer residence. India becoming a super power no way. A taliban power

it is religious issue which might have hurt sikhs but it is not national issue...sikhs are not present in india but all over the globe.
just one advice to such people...grow up or pretend that you have grown up...
