India and Russia going to sign biggest-ever defence deal worth $ 35 billion

. . . .
Be grateful we are getting it that early. If you were thinking it was anything earlier than that, then you certainly don't live in India, bhai.

I would like to share the information we had till now, that is, 5th gen concept isn't as successful in dog fights/other capabilities etc similar to 4++ aircrafts. it is very useful where the stealth tech is key for a mission but if it may get caught with a true 4++ aircraft like SU35/SU30mki, Rafale, F15 etc in the middle then chance are less that any of this 5th gen may either move forward or even turn back also, whether its F35/F22/Pak FA/FGFA/J20 ...... no wonder US has closed production line of F22 as they have got it in enough number, around 180, for the special missions where stealth tech will be the key but their main strength is still F15, F16s, SH etc.......

hence, if you are in hurry then you may have 20+ Pak FA by even 2014, like how Russia has planned. and if little cautious then wait till 2017/18, and if you want to get the most improved version of PAk FA/FGFA then wait till at least 2022 when its production line will get matured, with fixing every possible concern, to reach the 'Fitness Landscape' of this project like how HAL has planned, as it looks like. also, this way you may have little time to see how US's professionals go with F35 about which we are getting news that they are now going back to the design stage to fix the problems they have on the final stage while they already have over 20 prototypes. as, anyhow 5th gen stealth aircraft is a concept originated in US and if they can't make a true stealth aircraft which may perform good dog fight/have other capabilities like 4th gen, then you would think that Russia+India and China both would also have the same concerns as US will have with F35/JSF......

all these arguments are based in the light of the best available information only and we must wait for next 3-4 years to see how professionals working on these projects in US/Russia/China are ended up.......

I doubt 2022 timeline will be met.

I think 2025 or even 2028 is more realistic.

sir, we made a joke last year on US's lab that, its easy to develop a new concept than going back on a concept to design stage to fix the problems on the final stage . this joke also included a bottom-line fact that US's is wise enough to keep techs of F22 secret as they won't let the world know how crap it is. and since mid 90s, F22 only served as a 'strategic deterrance' for US only, its also true :agree:..... as, they themselves dont want it in a big number like how they have planned for F35 in over 2000+ number, if they may get success on F35, otherwise F35 would also be ended up with hardly around 150 in number, similar to F22 to serve the the special missions where the true stealth techs will be the key :meeting:.

thats also the reason that they have advised their EU's friends, not to work on this concept as they themselves dont know how it will go in future. and the proposal is still on table that in place of going back and fixing F35 since the design stage, better develop a new concept. check my last post about delays in F35 and comments of Australian Defense Experts...........

Sukhoi test pilot, Bogdan, has already stated that the pak-fa can outperform even the SU-35s which is probably by far the most maneuverable Flanker to date.

true and as Indian Think Tank/Technical experts made the decision after having a close look on the tests of prototypes of PAK FA, and its also true that US, CHina, Russia+India all are working on this project so its obvious that they have hope, lets see how things go.......

It help ya sleep better , No ?

Actually.

Given the fact this fighter is atleast 15 years away from induction and deployment on the front lines against Pakistan.

Pakistan should work with China on coming up with a S-400 or S-500 version of aerial defense to neutralize this dangerous threat.

As Indian arrogance grows, its only a matter of time, that they might try to emulate US into launching attacks in Pakistan over suspected militant camps.

Well arrogant Indians may not have planned for a Pakistan 15 years into future. So do not worry.

And NO we will not bomb your terror institutions. Its a pure coincidence that after Mumbai attacks in 2008 the terror storm in Pakistan hit the ceiling.

And what makes you think that Russians don't know the loopholes of S 300 and S 400 and they won't add those measures in PAKFa their billion dollar Baby to counter that threat.......

sir, its good to know that we have such a highly maneuverable 5th gen stealth aircraft, PAK FA. but if we have a look on the different news we got since last year, like one as below then its simply means that if US's F35/JSF get caught with 4++ aircrafts like SU35bm/SU30mki, F15, Rafale then it would simply try to run if it can, as no way it may win in dog fight with these 4++ aircrafts, as per these news. and australian defense experts even find it no way to be able to face the "High End Threat" like 4++ aircrafts who themselves are 'semi stealth' capable, hence they do have a good chance to get close to a 5th gen aircraft to bring it in the position to dog fight, for what F35/JSF is just not capable enough in its current state :disagree:, as per these news we have, which has extended its IOC to now 2018, if no later than this. while it has so many prototypes that it would be either on induction or it would be rejected by US. as, if they find it a failed project then there is no meaning to waste time on it. but yes, as US, China, Russia+India all are working on this 5th gen concept then its too early to say it a failed project/concept. while Indian Think Tank/technical experts are even willing to sign PAK FA/FGFA for $35bil after 200+ flight tests of prototypes of PAK FA then obviously they have the certain reasons

my posts are based on logical arguments in the light of best available information :meeting:

The F-35 Joint Strike Fighter (JSF) program has some negative issues that must be watched in the coming years.

Other signs of ill-health with the F-35 program are that the U.S. Navy is buying more Super Hornets to fill gaps in their carrier air wings. The United States Air Force (USAF) is in a similar state of affairs. For them the F-35 program is 7 years late compared to the 2001 plan. Initial Operating Capability (IOC) for USAF IOC's has been pushed to 2018. USAF now plans to refurbish 350 F-16s to deal with broken promises by the F-35 program.

The independent Australian airpower thinktank the Williams Foundation has called for Australia’s acquisition of the F-35 JSF to be delayed to allow the aircraft to mature, in light of recent news that IOC (initial operating capability) for the US Air Force may now be as late as 2018.

Part of the presentation showed a computer simulation which calculated that the F-35 would be consistently defeated by the Russian-made SU-35 fighter aircraft. The defeat calculated by the scenario also showed the loss of the F-35's supporting airborne-early warning and air-to-air refueling aircraft.

Independent air combat analysts from Air Power Australia have also stated that the F-35 is not capable of facing high end threats; that what will be delivered (if it ever arrives) will be obsolete; and that the F-35 is not affordable or sustainable.
