Ha Noi street view

These are the most common streets you can see in Ha Noi, they are everywhere lying towards every direction, you can easily get lost in Hanoi.

Yep, the old quarter. I didn't visit- maybe the new districts?

Staying in old quarter at weekend is great.
Old quarter area is about one - fourth area of the smallest district ( out of 29 districts ) in Hanoi which the Old quarter belong to, the Hoan Kiem district.

I see that you tried local "Pho" and "Bun cha" ( BBQ ).

Do they taste differently from your local food ?
FYI, "Pho" in Hanoi tastes different from "pho" in HCMC or oversea...

I hired a local tour guide, he showed me around Hanoi city, the old quarter, the church, the lake, Confucius temple, the Ho Chi Minh Memorial Hall etc.

I have tried Pho in the Vietnamese restuaruant in the US, they taste not so much different. I didn't take pictures of the best Pho I ate in Hanoi, it's about 40,000 dong. To me, you people eat very healthy things, although the streets look dirty, the food is good, I didn't feel any uncomfortable in Vietnam at all. Most of your food are very vegetarian to me, I've noticed there're no fat people in Vietnam.

Actually Vietnamese food are great, and they can be an important branch of Asian Cuisine.

HCMC is much better than Hanoi, I mean the city quality.

10 Ly Quoc Su Street, one famous Pho restaurant

Are you Vietnamese?

You are right.
Hanoi is quite conservative, compare to HCMC.

Anyway, Hanoi Old Quarter works as the similar term "Chinatown", which is old, crowded and ...
Other parts of Hanoi is about similar to HCMC or at least not too much different.
