Proof idiocy is fit and alive on PDF. If you can have it, thus it follows your are not prohibited are you? And about giving your source for this or did you call Alim online?
Verse 5:4 says "Lawful for you are all good things, and [the prey] that trained [hunting] dogs and falcons catch for you."
Verse 18:18 describes the Companions of the Cave, a group of saintly young men presented in the Qurʼan as exemplars of religion, sleeping with "their dog stretching out its forelegs at the threshold."
Please don't attribute to Islam what your local religious leader has told you without first investigating the matter.

I agree with you mate. These cretins just ruin the image of Islam and have mangled it into a disgusting list of do and don'ts lacking any sense. And the most dangerous part is their thinking is bolted shut.Personally I think he kept dogs to keep away the ignoramus faithful, since they are the ones who run farthest from the dogs.

Are these dogs easy to train and take care of? Opinions? Do you have a dog?
Sir, I don't mean to boast but I have/read Qur'an with translation and commentary. I also can understand basic Arabic. Dogs are not prohibited in Islam like you said. mentioned as retrieving your hunted food, presumably in their mouths. How can you then say they are prohibited?
Sorry @KediKesenFare for hijacking your thread
Sir, I don't mean to boast but I have/read Qur'an with translation and commentary. I also can understand basic Arabic. Dogs are not prohibited in Islam like you said. They are allowed if they do not go in to certain areas. Please tell me how they can be "prohibited" if the Holy Qur'an says this:
They ask you, [O Muhammad], what has been made lawful for them. Say, "Lawful for you are [all] good foods and [game caught by] what you have trained of hunting animals* which you train as Allah has taught you. So eat of what they catch for you, and mention the name of Allah upon it, and fear Allah ." Indeed, Allah is swift in account.
Qur'an 5:4
* The term is "trained like a [hunting] dog" and is applied to every animal used for hunting. And here they are even mentioned as retrieving your hunted food, presumably in their mouths. How can you then say they are prohibited?

Girl And Her Dog Rescue A Mother Goat And Her Newborn Baby
This is 11-year-old Hamdü Sena Bilgin. She lives in a small village outside the city of Rize, in Turkey.
Hamdü Sena and her family operate a small farm, where they raise goats for their milk. She serves as goatherd, the animals' protector and guide.
Her dog, Tomi, is always by her side to help, even during the cold winter months.
Recently, while Hamdü Sena and her loyal pup were tending to goats grazing on a snowy hillside far from home, one of them suddenly went into labor. Fearing that the goat, and her soon-to-be-arriving baby, would be too weak to make it back on their own, the young goatherd sprang into action.
"After the goat gave birth, I led the rest of the herd back to their shelter," Hamdü Sena told The Dodo. "Then I grabbed two backpacks from the house and went back to the goat and her baby with Tomi."
Although the backpacks are normally filled with books and school supplies, on this day, their cargo would be far more precious indeed.
Once back at the spot, Hamdü Sena loaded the mother goat into her backpack, and put the fragile baby into the other. Tomi carried her.
"He's a good dog," Hamdü Sena said. "Very smart."
Together, they slogged through the steep, wintery terrain to bring the new family to safety.
"The snow was so thick, I was exhausted," said Hamdü Sena. "But it was worth it."
She was joined near the end of the trek by her brother, who captured photos of the rescue in action.
Thanks to Hamdü Sena and Tomi's dedication to the animals they tend, the mother goat and her baby are now both safe and sound. But while the heroic 11-year-old might consider it her duty to the herd to protect them all from harm, she's receiving an outpouring of appreciation online, where her story has gone viral.
The resounding sentiment is that Hamdü Sena embodies what it means to love animals ...
... and we need only look to Tomi and her herd to know that animals love her, too.

as i said in my previous post quran is base on different time, place, situation...ect. thats the miracle of quran that its in arabic. in arabic even 1 word have bunch of meanings. so one sentence takes different translation based on time and situation. hope you will get your answer because we all ready ruined original thread and i apologies for that again.Pray, Allah. Please tell me where it say's dogs are (i) prohibited but (ii) for security reasons are allowed? And @Pakistani Exile thanks for clarifying the issue. Looks like Mohammed Ali Jinnah must have kept those dogs to ward off the Hindus?
No need to apologize but please get a education and if you can buy another brain. You got cheated.i apploigise for that again.
I had one growing up as a kid. I still remember him to this day, a loyal faithful friend that I miss.
The most important thing with such breed is that you need to have lots of time to spend with them and train good habits into them when young. Every quality bit of time you spend early with them saves a huge hassle with them later.
Please look up youtube videos and other online resources on how to train german shepherd puppies. They do much better job than I can post in detail here.
