Biggest victory for Sikhs, we suffered alot. 1st India-Pak partition, later Himachal, Haryana new states, now greedy politicians have 'Chandigarh' issue, it also has inclined towards Haryana, Go Punjab search new capital again.

Yes that is true, Sikh were the biggest losers in the division of India. They lost their holiest places to Pakistan, their remaining province was divided into three states by India, so that Hindu majority be in other and Sikh be restricted to a smaller Punjab.

Most Sikhs took the side of Hindus and chose India, if they didn't we would've had a united bigger Punjab in Pakistan.

There's still some Sikhs in Pakistan and they love Pakistan.

what ever i like my panjabis no matter they are from india pakistan or usa our food our language our life style is same only religun forget that for few minuts you feel good .

Yes but why did most Sikhs chose Hindu majority India over Pakistan during partition?

If most Sikhs really thought all Punjabis are the same people they would've chose Pakistan because undivided Punjab had more Muslims than Sikhs or Hindus. We would've had a united bigger Punjab if Sikhs sided with Muslims on 1947, but most Sikhs chose to side with Hindus.

Regions with significant Punjabi population:

Pakistan________76,335,300
India___________29,109,672
United Kingdom___2,300,000
Canada__________800,000
United Arab Emirates_720,000
United States_______640,000
Saudi Arabia________620,000
Hong Kong_________260,000
Malaysia___________185,000
South Africa_________140,000

ok :argh:

Total Overseas Indian Population ~26,000,000
Total Overseas Sikh Population is ~ 2,500,000

10% ~ of expat Indians
2% ~ in India proper.

It would be intersting to see similar stats for Sikhs as a % of expat Indians, and compare that to Sikh % in India proper.
