Ejderha EMP system (Anti IED)

Aselsan showcases its anti-IED solution with EJDERHA (HPEM) EMP system at IDEF 2015

At IDEF 2015, the International Defence Industry Fair in Istanbul, Turkey, Aselsan presents an original anti-IED solution based on an electronic componants and integrated circuit detector and the EJDERHA High Power Electromagnetics (HPEM). This device is designed to neutralise any suspects objects in route clearance operation with an electromagnetic pulse.

At IDEF 2015 you can see the detection system (below) and the EJDERHA system (above) mounted on a Land Rover Defender

Aselsan’s EJDERHA High Power Electromagnetics (HPEM) System generates extremely high-amplitude electromagnetic fields in specific frequencies and directs them to the potential targets such as electronic circuits of improvised explosive devices (IEDs) with its specially designed directional antenna-reflector set and has the effect on these targets such as suppression, predetonation resetting the control system, durable blocking, stopping the operation.

Consisting of a high power DC charger, a Marx Generator, an antenna and a reflector, the HPEM System generates high-frequency high-power (400 kV/m at 1 m) electromagnetic waves by releasing instantaneous (in ns) high energy pulses (up to kj).
EJDERHA can be integrated on vehicle (route clearance, car stopping) as well as on unmanned ground vehicles (neutralization of suspicious packages by EOD teams) or can be used at checkpoints/base/building (car stopping and also clearance / neutralization of bugs in building behind walls and inside furniture). According to customer's choice, the HPEM System can be integrated with a non-linear junction detection based Detection system and co-operate with it as the principle of operation is that the HPEM System is activated immediately only when the Detection System detects a potential target.

Enemies and unfriendly neighbors are crapping their pants, it is evident at IDEF 2015 that many of the Platforms and Systems that the Turkish Nation was developing are ready for action and in 5-7 years the Turkish Defence Industry will have matured even more. Greece is now left in the dust for good.

New Aselsan anti-tank missile launching weapon station at IDEF 2015, International Defense Industry Fair in Istanbul, Turkey.

ASELSAN Anti-Tank Missile Launching System is a versatile defensive and offensive weapon system that provides high effectively against ground targets in day/ night and adverse weather conditions thanks to its computer controlled fire control subsystem designed to limit the operator's task it is a remotely controlled and stabilized Weapon Platform carrying 4 Anti-Tank Guided Missiles (HELLFIRE. JAVELIN. KORNET-E. OMTAS etc )

The Weapon Platform can be customized in order to carry the amount of missiles required by the customer Alongside with 4 Anti-Tank Guided missiles, the System can be configured to carry 25mm automatic cannon. 12 7 or 7 62 mm machine gun for self protection.

The System is light weight, low volume and suitable for integration with a variety of existing or new armored high mobility fighting vehicles, considerably upgrading their lethality it allows the system to be operated from inside the vehicle with a high degree of precision to protect the gunner and/or commander from being exposed.

The Aselsan anti-tank weapon station features computer controlled passive surveillance, acquisition and tracking sensors featuring Infra Red (IR) and Video imagers.

The computerized fire control offers an automatic slewing of turret to the target coordinates pre-assigned by Command and Control System if exists. The system includes also automatic target tracking and automatic target-in-range warning if the target is within the missile firing range.

The dual axis gyro stabilized is totally sealed turret for target surveillance, acquisition and shoot-on-the-move capability. This remote weapon station enables the operator to fire under the protection of the vehicle.
