My ideal house would be one story only, wooden structure and floor, very airy and roomy, with huge walls of glass, so that max light gets in. In the midst of trees and grass. Complete unison with nature...not an ugly heap of concrete and metal.

I saw a house like this while going to Nathiagali from Murree...

waise any idea of land prices in Nathiya gali, a bit off road in woods on some peak where car or jeep can reach?

A year or so back, our family decided to built a joint family home over there...not too lavish, just something simple and comfy. Did alot of recce and all, Nathiagali was a bit expensive...(I don't remember the exact numbers right now).

Then the off road places which were a bit cheap but were lacking the basic facilities like water, phone etc. So you wold have to do some extra investment.

The places we found most suitable w.r.t the cost and facilities were near the old road to Murree. You know that famous mosque near the stream...one house was near that...and another one was near the Army Artillery unit just at the beginning of the road while going from isl to Murree...

Decent cost, facilities also available, weather also pleasant...especially near the mosque.

Another place you may try is near the new expressway, I reckon it would be cheap now and later it would rise sharply...Bahria Town's golf resort is also coming up there

Gul jee had a house on the natural track from ghora gali to Nathiya gali, it was a hut in the woods with a water fall passing by and a view down the valley. I liked that kind of hidden place...

Yeah, that is pretty much ideal.

But then you'll have to cough out some extra dough...depending on the location for electricity, gas, phone lines etc. Then the basic amenities like shops and other small stuff.

yar I think it should not cost more than 1.5 million. fair deal if so..

As I said, too many factors to think of. It would depend by location.

Express way kay paas mil jaye ga araam say, Nathiagali and farther would be a bit costly.

The biggest problem is the urban expansion into greenfields, this is going to have a bad effect with regards to agricultural capacity and other associated benefits with having lots of undeveloped, green, wooded land. Not least look at Singapore - highly developed, but poisoned by it's own development. So we need to build up or down to accomodate for the housing needs of 180 million people. Look at lahore it has expanded to ridiculous levels and flattened all the green around it. Lahore's wealth is the punjab plains but what will happen when the plains have been run over by dense urbanisation.

The other issue is the style and designs of the homes in Pakistan, many are exercise in bad taste, just large concrete edifices without any design values, and are built to cover every inch , where pray are the gardens for these homes, just huge walls of terracotta and bad ugly paindu erections.

Lahore wali prices hi hain waise on road... like 1 million 1 marla :woot:
@nuclearpak

lakin off the road sasta hi hoga kaam, comparatively

This is complete jungle...you would have to do everything yourself (electricity, water etc). Getting in some solar panels would be good, but they wouldn't do any good in winter.

If you keep on searching, you will find something for sure.
