both sides should stop dancing thinking they won, because it seems this whole fiasco is a joke.

Well, what is more important. Consular access was already expected.
Death sentence is only temporarily halted, not stopped.
Review means jack all. After review the death penalty stayed.

Now look at it with open eyes.
No release of Kulbashan, which India wanted.
No handing over to India, which India wanted.
Charges of terrorism stays. Court didn't find anything wrong with terrorism charges brought by Pakistan.
The 2nd fake document is declared "Genuinely" issued, i.e. purposefully supplied by Indian government to conduct terror activities in Pakistan.
This is the most dangerous issue going against India and in favor of Pakistan.

The damage to India, its reputation, its status as terrorists state, officially sponsoring terrorism to its neighbor through their state actors.

Wouldn't counsellor access means, the counsellor would go back to India and say what he wants that Kulbhushan said this/that even if he never did and build a narrative?

The way I see it, this case isn't about saving Kubhushan, it was about saving the narrative that Pakistan interferes in india and India does nothing. India is the victim basically. When in reality, Kulbhushan proved India is horribly involved in interfereing in Pakistan and sponsoring terrorism at a state level.

I am just wondering what the implications are, once the chest thumping ends at both sides...

SUMMARY OF ICJ VERDICT IN KULBUSHAN CASE:

India's request was to have charges dropped and an immediate safe return - ICJ denied that.

India's claim was that he is an ordinary citizen working on Chabahar port project and was lured to cross the border - ICJ dismissed this notion.

India was asking the sentence revoked, ICJ have upheld the military court verdict but asked Pakistan to review as per OUR LAW and by medium of our choosing, meaning we decide how and if to review it and who will review it.

Pakistan claim was that he is an agent and thus military court was used, ICJ have NOT OVERRULED Military court verdict. Have asked Pakistan to decide on a review mechanism and review DEATH PENALTY as per PAKISTANI LAW

Only one of India's request have been accepted that KJ should be givel counsler access. For that too ICJ refered to geneva convention ruling regarding enemy spies that as per that article of geneva convention spy should be provided counsler access.
