and why the heck did we spend on buying the AWACS if planes on the ground cant be protected from bombings by enemy fighters?They are supposed to detect enemy a/cs at long ranges...isnt it?

Nothing is impregnable- the key is building layers of detection and protection.

What are you talking about? Apache is a given- going to CCS next month, done deal. Similarly with CH-47F almost a done deal- MI-26 isn't good enough for IAF requirments.

Mi 26 is a flying junk, Most of the time saw them in BRDs under repair.
They are fuel guzllers
Difficult to fly.
MOST OF ALL THE LIFT FROM Rotors is so much at emplty load you need to park a CFT for safe landing else it Yaws horribly..

You guys are lucky that you will be getting Apache AH-64D.Russian technology is quite complex specially when outdated.

under 3 feet can be destroyed under 300 feet cant :)

actually you are wrong..there are certain techniques by which you can destroy the hardend structure and with it air assets.if two bunker bluster bombs hit in 180 degree(almost),it can make floor of the bunker burst,thus destroying aircraft.also,if these bomb hits blast doors,it can disable them and with this,air assets will be trapped.
