Air Chief Marshal RKS Bhadauria flew a sortie in an F-15 fighter aircraft in Israel on Thursday apart from holding wide-ranging talks with his Israeli counterpart Maj Gen Amikam Norkin on further boosting bilateral military cooperation, officials said. The Chief of Air Staff (CAS) reached Israel on Tuesday on a three-day visit from the United Arab Emirates. The Indian Air Force (IAF) on Friday described Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria’s visit to Israel as an “important milestone" in cooperation between air forces of the two countries. “The visit of the CAS to Israel marks an important milestone in the Indian Air Force and the Israeli Air Force’s ties, with both sides reaffirming a shared vision of enhanced bilateral engagements and multidisciplinary professional exchanges for the future," the IAF said. It said the Chief of Air Staff flew a sortie in an F-15 fighter jet along with the commander of the Israeli Air Force.

He was given also given an overview of the Israeli Air Force’s operational environment. “The CAS had very productive meetings with Director General MoD (Ministry of Defence) and Chief of the Gen Staff on matters of mutual interest and bilateral defence cooperation," the IAF said in a statement. As part of the visit, Air Chief Marshal Bhadauria, accompanied by Maj Gen Norkin, also visited the “Yad Vashem" and paid homage at the memorial, it said. Yad Vashem is Israel’s official memorial in memory of the victims of the Holocaust. “The Chiefs also laid wreaths at the Cemetery for Indian soldiers in Talpioth, Jerusalem," the IAF said.

The defence and security cooperation between India and Israel has been on an upswing. India is the largest buyer of Israel’s military hardware. Israel has been supplying various weapon systems, missiles and unmanned aerial vehicles to India over the last few years but the transactions have largely remained behind the curtains. Defence Minister Rajnath Singh last month held a telephonic conversation with his Israeli counterpart Benjamin Gantz.

Both of those air chiefs have one thing in common ...... they both have had planes shot down by pilots of the Pakistan airforce !!!

8-)..

BS, a Pakistani pilot flying for the RJAF shot down an Israeli Dassault Mystere.
PAF had nothing to do with it.. 🤓

If PAF taken on the Israeli air force today... RIP PAF...

Are you on a mission to internationally embarrass us all?

Calm down boys. When it comes to wrestle in air battle, the record will prove again whether the Air Force or pilot flying for other. Till then, enjoy India getting trained for what Israelis provided, installed and upgraded IAF jets post Feb, 2019.

And if their army took on the PA it would be RIP IDF.

There is a proven history and some facts as how it will end. Israel has no support so far to fly all the way to attack Pakistan. Once they tried in 98 when Pakistan was about to become a N power, they couldn't. What really happened that pilots of both sides faced each other in a third place and right in neighborhood of Israel, the M.E. Results and facts are already there.

Now coming to technological edge, IDF has much on disposal as compare to PAF but what was their strength back in the days in M.E when Pakistani pilots shot them down? I believe they were advance back then as well.

We all know that well after what Hizoballah did to them in 2006. Even the IAF couldn’t turn the tide. The air arm can’t make up for their weakness on the ground.
IDF was over-confident and complacent when it confronted Hezbollah in 2006. Israeli leadership of the time also delayed the 'ground offensive' which proved to be a costly mistake - admitted in the relevant Israeli report.

But Israel learns from its mistakes. They have developed and fielded revolutionary defensive technologies in later years. The Iron Dome system is able to blunt massive rocket barrages, and Israeli main battle tanks are equipped with Trophy APS to intercept RPGs and ATGMs. Israel also have impressive A2/AD arrangements in place to counter big ticket items such as intruding jet fighters, ballistic missiles and even cruise missiles.

IAF have also evolved on many counts with some of the most advanced jet fighters in its arsenal and in the face of extensive exposure to Syrian conflict which tested Israel in different ways.

The only shortcoming of Israel is that it does not have much territorial strategic depth - Israel is vulnerable to massive rocket barrages of neigboring entities in case of hostilities. These barrages can disrupt activities in Israeli towns and cities, and have much propaganda value.

Israel also experience much international pressure to cease hostilities as soon as they break out. IDF is not able to mobilize on big scale to overrun surroundings which it should be able to do in theory.
