Gagan shakti has made our enemy's pant wet. It is visible from much TV discussion I saw. China is saying that china and Russia will have to reconsider India's power. The goal of exercise was a two front war. In first two day, One enemy shall be flatten totally and then assets shall be moved to other front. The Goal of excercise was achieved.

Only if Indians would stop fancying themselves so much, they wouldn't end up getting embarrassed and humiliate in the end.....how many other air forces have you witnessed making tall claims on mere exercise which doesn't even involve a second party.

At the beginning of the just concluded Gagan Shakti exercise, the IAF habitually went on the media to make highly exaggerated claims that it flew 10 000 sorties in first three days of the exercise, later the IAF Air chief went on further with frivolous claims of shaking the heavens with his lies by adding more fervour to the same chapter.

However, lies have short legs, it was obvious that the IAF was making ridiculous claims by these figures as it's much beyond IAF's capability to generate anything close to these sorties not even in a fortnight let alone in three days.
Now, after the conclusion of the exercise, a new claim has been put forward by the IAF, stating that between 8-22 April only 9000 combat sorties took place where as the overall figure achieved during the two weeks of exercise was 11000 sorties.
Anyone for Cricket.

After all participating in an excercise with only 4 or 5 of your fighter aircrafts involving a party/ties shows your war readiness, not a countrywide excercise with all sorts of assets costing 10s of millions.

Really, wasn't the IAF was forced to eat it's own words once the RAF threatened to reveal the actual outcome of the exercise,
Sources in the RAF are calling Indian claims of superiority in the air "comical" while ridiculing reports that the Indian pilots flying Sukhoi Su-30 MKI fighter aircraft defeated the RAF Typhoon aircraft not only in one-on-one combat, but also when pitted against two Typhoons.
A RAF source told The Independent that the claims cited in Indian media were clearly designed for the "domestic audience".

Meanwhile a spokesperson for the RAF said: "Our analysis does not match what has been reported, RAF pilots and the Typhoon performed well throughout the exercise with and against the Indian Air Force.
And No, it wasn't any unnamed source but the IAF contingent leader boasting on the National TV.....with the same false bravado that runs through Indian psyche entwined with bollywood.

In an interview to NDTV, the IAF Commander for the exercise, Group Captain Ashu Srivastav, said the performance of his pilots was “exceptional”. He also claimed his contingent scored a 12-0 victory against the RAF fighters in a series of aerial dogfight scenarios. Well one needs a brain to observe and calculate certain fact and figures but then there are exceptions like you , your media within the first week of the exercise was claiming the 10000 sorties in first three days so there's no question of any publishing error in 3 or 13 days.....i guess it's too complicated for your simple mind to comprehend so i suggest you just read the date of the article published.

Anyway, that 10,000 sorties was just a media report quoting "sources". Very likely that the author thought the exercise was only for three days. Those three days were just the high tempo days.

5000 sorties for those three days is more probable and the more accepted report now. So yeah, PAF did 7000 in 2 weeks. IAF did 5000 in 3 days.

IAF is nearly 3 times bigger and you are comparing it with a smaller air Force, what a joke, can IAF match PLAAF or USAF in same way??
