You may not need visa to enter mainland China, Hong Kong probably not, no visa required for you to enter Hainan Island of Mainland China, And as far as I know,Beijing, Tianjin, and Hebei provinces have jointly implemented a 144-hour transit visa-free policy for foreigners in 53 countries, including Australia!
