The strained relationship of India and Pakistan has taken its toll on the entertainment industries of either side of the border as well. While some came out in the support of the self imposed ban on Pakistani artists in India, others aren’t still too certain about its implication.

Bollywood veteran actor Paresh Rawal has expressed his desire to work in Pakistani dramas and lauded how well framed the shows are.

According to Hindustan Times, the Hera Pheri actor said, “Yes, I would love to work in Pakistani films and shows. I love all Pakistani TV serials like Humsafar, the way they act, the story, the writing, the language… it’s all good. I feel our shows are boring.”

I’d love to work in Pakistan if the offer is right: Huma Qureshi

Rawal recently made headlines in the news for his controversial comments against author Arundhati Roy where he suggested that she should be tied to an army jeep to discourage stone-pelters in Kashmir.

The 67-year-old actor believes cinema and cricket bring the two countries closer.

“I believe that artists and cricketers don’t come and throw bombs. They are not terrorists, rather they bridge the gap between the two countries. But when the mood is not good why rake up issues at that time? It is better to stay with your country,” he says.

He also asserted that the ban on Pakistani artists should not be have been imposed in the first place.

“There should be no ban on anyone or anything. Even in Hindi Medium there was a Pakistani actress but nothing happened as the mood is good in the country,” he says.

His statement comes after Bollywood diva Vidya Balan praised Saba Qamar’s Bollywood debut, Hindi Medium.

Vidya Balan all praise for Saba Qamar in ‘Hindi Medium’

“Watched Hindi Medium today and took your number from Zeenat. Just wanted to tell you that you were amazing in the film. It’s a character one could dislike so easily for being pushy but you humanized her and make her believable and likable! Really, wow!” wrote Vidya.

Another actor, Huma Qureshi, too, confessed that she is open to working in Pakistan if the offer is right. Talking to The Express Tribune, the Gangs of Wasseypur star said, “I would love to work in a Pakistani project, if it’s the right offer.”

i remember when i was a kid we watched some india drama i think its name was hum paanch or something i have blur memories of it but it was fun to watch it.

Yes, I still do watch few of them on Youtube. Specially Malgudi days, that was so reminiscent of my childhood.

You guys have good cinema.
We have good TV series.

You have good batsmen.
We have (had) good bowlers.

You have good film singers.
We have good music acts.

Sab partition par decide hua tha

I believe we still have very good story tellers, but our prime time small screen Hindi entertainment industry got hijacked by low IQed audiences.

The word RIGHT implies money should be RIGHT.
Not very often BOLLYWOOD biggies act in pakistani movies or serials unless they are in dire need of money. The flow of talent has always been from Paksitan to India for the same reason.

You have Ekta Kapoor to thank for that. My mother used to watch Star Plus back in the day, those soaps killed me but for some reason my mother was hooked! I guess they pander to the same demographic in India as well and in that demographic, I think it sells well.
There's nothing a woman in the subcontinent detests more than a cruel saas after all. The animosity is further fueled when the saas is played by a hot, early thirty something model who keeps coming back in ever more sultry incarnations after miraculous "plastic surgeries".

lol its just because of big Marker and same language, if this is the case with Bangladesh or Afghanistan Pakistani actors are invited there as well so not a big deal and its all about actors popularity due to which producers invite them to get more money.

you are right its all about money. plus Pakistanis are invited by indians as Pakistani looks and accent are popular in india which is not the case in Pakistan some indian actors might be popular in Pakistan but in general indian looks or accent are not appreciated in Pakistan. with no offense.

Dont worry I'm not offended, we are taught to think deep. Only superficial people worry about looks.

BTW as far as looks are concerned KATRINA kaif (born to a Pakistani man and an English woman)is the prettiest actress in Indian cinema but its Priyanka Chopra and Deepika Padukone who made it to Hollywood. Point to ponder! :)
LOLzzz

I used to think Nargis Fakhri was pretty fly, but she turned out to be a really basic bitch (pardon the crass expression) in how she dealt with rumours that she was dating Imran Abbas.

We appreciate talent be it Bangladeshi/Afghnaistani or Nepali.
accent are popular in india
WRONG.
A Pakistani accent is very different from ours. Unless its a Pakistani Punjabi, your guys sound very different.

really basic bitch
Sorry sir but i would not take such words against a respectable woman. It is offending. I expect you to edit the word.

She,from what I know, is in a serious relationship with another actor so I'm not surprised at her reaction. Plus when she said "I dont even know who he is", it could mean that she doesnt know him personally, which is fair.
