Are you guys going to punish those f*ckers who tried to destroy the statues of Lord Buddha?

Are there Indian laws that give out punishment to citizens for doing that?

CD - trust me - it will not happen. They will punish few idiots but the masterminds like the Maulvi will not be touched.

This thread should be closed, the event doesn't deserve so much attention, this is just being blown out of proportion.

Some idiots were shown morphed images of china earth quack, malay insurgency etc as Rohingyas/Assamese Muslims being massacred at friday mob, they went on to defile Buddha's statue. They were arrested and it's end of matter.

My question stays - was the Maulvi arrested? If not, it is not the end of the matter.

The maulvi will not be punished. The foot soldiers who did it will be.

And that defeats the purpose, the maulvi will probably be sitting and feasting with the local politician looking to shore up the muslim vote.

Something tells me there is going to resurgence of "Mumbai Police of 90's style action" nationwide.

You are spot on - The SP and the congress will vie for the few thousand votes the Maulvi can influence and both will not touch him.

The Mumbai police is ready. Every security force is ready and they know even in Mumbai who had instigated the riots but is there a political will? Congress government in Mumbai, SP government in UP and Congress at center - Is there one? They would want to sweep this issue as quickly as possible.

And why isn't the Indian media reporting much about the attempt to destroy the statues of Lord Buddha?

There are only a few news articles that vaguely reference "vandalism of the statues in Buddha Park".

According to the Indians here, they consider Lord Buddha to be an avatar of Vishnu, so it is their own God as well. Not just ours.

Have you ever seen Yes prime minister or it's indian variant Jee Mantriji, most of admin issues are under the control of bureaucrats, so doesn't matter if it's BJP or congress, both are equally spineless. It's the Bureau that needs some juice.

Vandalism of statues of Buddha, Ambedkar, shivaji, Sri-krishna, Mazhars, are bread and butter for cheap leaders to cause riots and subsequently get elected in polarized environments.

All of my countrymen belonging to all religions are extremely upset with this incident.

Because it is Indian media, and any sensible Indian would like to diffuse the situation and not inflame it further by stoking a communal fire.

Its a sad day but the recent actions of the Muslim community in India is surely converting staunch secularists like me into what i used to call communalists.

But after the recent actions by Muslims of trying to spoil Budha's statue, i am truely beginning to question whether Muslims can live peacefully at all?

Generally, i and most other secularists believed that Muslim radicalization and riots were a reaction of/to Hindu fundamentalists - Tali do haath se bajti hai. I believed that Hindu fundamentalists were as with Muslim fundamentalists feeding off of each other.

But this assumption of mine, has been laid bare by how the Muslims in Mumbai and Lucknow have gone berserk and disrespected life/property and religion of other people WITHOUT any provocation by parties like BJP/Shiv Sena/etc..

They were there, and they just simply started rioting. Trying to defile Budha's statue after threatening North Eastern Indians all over India, is absolutely the last straw. It does seem that Muslims in India cannot live peacefully along with other communities. It does not seem by their actions that their religion teaches them peace. Their leaders like MIM MP Owaisi deliberately provoking them further and threatening militancy? What kind of non sense is this?

Why is it being tolerated?

It is now a hope, that such being the case, either Indian Muslims adapt and learn to respect other religions and communities or there happens another partition, this time without land - for the good of both Muslim communities and all other communities in India.

Holly cow, you are just too secular even for india. another partition with land?? even marxists cannot come up with that idea unless they bend over in front of a socialist, and marxists probes the depth of secularism in a socialist till he cant utter a gibberish like you just did.

How is it communal to call for punishment of those idiots who tried to destroy the statues of Lord Buddha?

If you DON'T punish them, THAT is communal.
