What's new

I am extremely impressed by the governance of Caliph Umar, will try to follow his model : Kejriwal

His being polite at a forum is being blown up to irrational levels. If I, as a public leader was invited by a religious forum, then I too would find it polite to say something nice about their history. That's what these forums are, for communities to get to know each other. Not spew venom.

India is a secular state & there should no statesman or governmental participation in any religious function ideally.
If you are not wants to agree thats not my problem but if the same Kejriwal said same type of word in Hindu religious seminar then response would have epic from our so called seculars (pseudo seculars) & may be including yours.

He can be polite and say " thank you i appreciate your gesture. I will defenitely read the book. " That is what a normal polite person would do.

What a politician nursing his vote bank says is "I have not read the book, but I am very impressed with it anyway and will try to be more like this person."

Yes Kejriwal
Is honest except when he promised to reduce power rates and instead raised them
Is honest except when he used pension funds to give subsidies to his political constituency, when it come to pay out the pensions kejriwal will have moved on
Is honest except that he lied about having a civil servant removed for enforcing the rules
Is honest except when appointing his law minister, forgot to check whether the guy had a degree at all
Is honest except that he promised to audit energy companies and then failed to do so
Is honest except that he threatens media that writes unfavorable articles
Is honest except that he lied about finding money in his budget and living within his means
Is honest except that his previous law minister used to beat his wife and Kejriwal supports him
He is honest except that he fired his own internal lok pal
This guy is honest very much like the snake in the garden of Eden.
So many qualities :-D :-D then why people of delhi elected him cm ?

No, the constitution has clearly defined. Secularism is not complete distancing from all relegions like in Frace, but equal respect for all relegions. In a state where religion is deeply emptional issue a public leader completely avoiding it is stupid. Instead he acts as a facilitator, a bridge (like Gandhi was) and builds confidence among all communities to harness their unity for common good.

The demagogue, of course tries to exploit the divisions (like Modi)

Respect does not mean go bonhomie with religion as their are no place of religion in government.onal
Gandhiji was a very simple hearted man who should be respected but should not followed in every aspect of life ( as you may be know Bapu's personal or professional life was not as successful.)

Many reasons no doubt, partly he had some excellent NRI election managers, who had years of experience in hood winking, secondly congress decided to commit suicide handing over all their votes to AAP, BJP Delhi, was infighting due to poor handling of cm canditure. But at the end of the day " fool me once, it's your fault; fool me twice it's my fault" so Delhi deserves what it is getting, pointless endless drama, no development. The happiest people are the newspaper owners who have a different fight to report everyday :)

Not interested in your ill informed views. AK is a public leader and he is leading all the communities that are a part of his state. With their confidence and unity he can achieve great things. He is sensitive to their history and culture and that is the hallmark of a great leader who enjoys their confidence. Rest of your statements are irrelevant. Bapu's professional life was succesful. He could have chosen to become wealthy if he wanted but decided to give it up for the service of the nation.

what are the qualities is he talking about? Kejri does not tolerate dissent within party, and will undermine everybody for his own goal. extremely pessimistic individual, its like whole world is conspiring against him.
The same party that wanted to distance itself from religion related politics caught red handed.

Indian Muslims have Indian history.
He can name Akbar, Sher Shar Suri or Bahadur Shah Zafar
Would like see his concern for Hindu, Sikh other community.
His father was wealthy & becoming barrister does not mean successful when most of you case settle out from the court.
How did a provincial young lawyer from western India become a globally recognized icon? The answers lie largely—if not widely known—in South Africa. During twenty years living in and around Durban and Johannesburg, Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi, once a mediocre student, a shy speaker, and an unsuccessful barrister, turned into a prolific author, a committed social activist, and a galvanizing leader with an international reputation. Nelson Mandela put it best, on a visit to India: “You gave us Mohandas; we returned him to you as Mahatma.”

And you are going to mandate whose history people should refer to in public discussions...? Your argument just keeps getting lamer.
