Huang Jing: Time for Asian G2

China and India have NOTHING IN COMMON whereas China, Singapore,Taiwan, S. Korea, Japan and HK are all Confucius countries.

WE have a lot in common  we are after all the two oldest civilizations :toast_sign:

Share a more common history than Pakistan? I thnk you got a bit sentimental there buddy. But Pakistan definitely has more in common with India than China. RemeberMohenjedaro and Harrapa civilisations and the land of the vedas? Down to the languages, cusine and customs and dresses.

China does have a strong Buddhist link to India and so does almost all south east and east asian countries.

Yup. The Buddhism in China, Japan, S. Korea, Taiwan, HK, Vietnam etc etc is Chinese version and different from , Thai, Tibetian, Indian or Sri Lankan Buddhism.

WE have a lot in common  we are after all the two oldest civilizations :toast_sign:

Egypt and Babylon also have something in common with China and India because they are also the world's old civilizations.

How come no one mention the most common thing that China and India shares ???
They both have the largest population and India is about to beat China to claim the most populated nation on earth title.

Why are people not giving Nepal credit ? We all know Buddhism spread to China from Nepal and not from India. Siddhartha Gautama was a Prince of Nepal and not India.

There was no India or Nepal in the time of Lord buddah it was just diffrent kingdoms.

Nepal is also mentioned in Hindu scriptures such as the Narayana Puja and the Atharva Siras (800-600 BC). Around 1000 BC, small kingdoms and confederations of clans arose in the region. From one of these, the Shakya confederation, arose a prince named Siddharta Gautama (563–483 BC)

Buddhism from India spread to SE Asia, Mauryan emperor Aśoka the Great sent the royal monk Massim Sthavira to Nepal, Bhutan, and China to spread Buddhism around 265 BCE

ignore the ignorant troll..............i dont thnk this kind of alliance is possible right now.....we india as country need to rise up n get our act together, before committing to such alliances......

If India wants to catch up with China or the world then she should stop wasting time bashing China and Pakistan and be more productive to her economy.

Pakistan is in no position to comment on economy India has Foreign reserves of $280 bn vs Pakistan's $16bn. India is growing at 8% compared to Pakistan's 4% and we did not need IMF loan or
kerry-luger bill.

If Pakistan has no right to talk about India then why is India keep talking about Pakistan ? If Pakistan has no right to talk about India then India also has no right to keep talking about Pakistan.

I said 'position' I never said right did I?

"position" and "right" are the same thing when used in your sentence you posted earlier.

Anyways, India wants to form a G2 with China then go ahead. However, there will be lots of problems because of the big difference between China and India.

Good Luck !!!

At present even while having border issues, india and china is having good relations.Bilateral trade is about to reach $100 billion by 2015,We are having joint military exercises(joint air force exercises will start next year onwards),thousands of indian students studying in china etc.Once the border issue is solved, much better relations can be expected and as the chinese author mentioned we may be able to form an asian G2

We are already part of BRIC which is more important then any possible G2 there is no need at all for this new grouping.

Buddhism in all their forms everwhere in the planet was first born right here...under the Bodhi Tree in Bihar, the very heart of India. Over the centuries many cultures who had the previlage of it's wisdom created their own versions by bringing in their own cultural experiences to the truth that the Buddha wanted to spread.

You are correct.

It is also a fact that Buddhism is a fundamental part of Chinese culture.

It will be beneficial for China to bring India over to their side and for India to bring China over to their side. Otherwise, big outside powers may very well seek to play them against each other to achieve the collapse or damage of both. If the latter disaster unfortunately comes to pass, we will see western dominance and hegemony reign in the world, to the detriment of most or all non-western nations, for a much longer period of time than currently expected. For India's side, two things they may need to be careful with are their anti-China media rhetoric and the Dalai Lama card as that could easily fan the flames and negate cooperation/progress of this particular partnership - whether G2 or something else - one which is necessary for the mutual safety and advancement of both in the global arena, and by extension for the benefit of giving rise to Asia in creating a multipolar world, where global western hegemony is significantly circumcised, counterbalanced, or curbed.

See Pakistan is not interested in there being a destructive conflict between India and China, contrary to what I have seen some Indian folks post on several occasions online (excluding PDF). It will stand to benefit [from China-India peace] along with the rest of Asia.

If you want to find things in common, even enemies can live peacefully. If you want to find differnces, even brothers can fight. Why are you against unification and peace?? whats your problem if India and China have a common platform?
